Oh no! What have I wrought?!

Thanks, Frodo, but I already knew that.Frodo wrote:

After clicking the link to jgest's DP inspired music...

"Whooaa...Shpongle?" was my reaction.
Dude, I haven't seen that name in a while.
No one I know's ever heard it.
You've got taste, man.
Maybe it's partly because Logic's copy protection, as you say, blows balls (ie. works) that people don't get flamed about asking where the PDF manual is.dougieb wrote:PLUS... another bonus to Logic is that you don't get flamed when you ask where the .pdf copy of the manual is.
PS: Logic's copy protection also blows balls.
Whether or not DP crashes a lot differs from user to user. It's rock solid for me. I rely on it for paid work.nickmorgan19457 wrote:Does DP really crash that often? Or does he just mean while running it through Rosetta?

Frodo,
Am I confusing you with someone else or not: I seem to remember you as a vocalist/pianist and you used to have a link to your music. I'm talking about the OLD Unicornation. I don't remember your avatar, but I know it wasn't your current one. I realize this may sound completely nuts, but I had to ask. Thanks!

5.1 on PPC seems pretty darn stable for me in 10.4.7.chrispick wrote:Whether or not DP crashes a lot differs from user to user. It's rock solid for me. I rely on it for paid work.nickmorgan19457 wrote:Does DP really crash that often? Or does he just mean while running it through Rosetta?
You'll never get a reasonable gauge on stability by polling user bulletin boards. Plus, no one will have the set-up you'll have; you'll be your own island.
One thing that can be said about this board though: People will try to help you with DP-related issues.
The hobbit nails it...Frodo wrote:The thing I have to keep reminding myself of is that those who ask are unaware that they are not the first to ask such a question. The repetitive nature of the question is more from the perspective of those who have been here a while and who have seen threads about this grow long in a short time.
Fair comment.Frodo wrote:The other thing is that perhaps the unavailability of the PDF should be made clearer as a matter of statement on MOTU's site for prospective buyers. The reason why people come here is because there are so many honest questions which are simply not answered on MOTU's site, which is much more of a glorified ad than it is a resource for vital info. 90% of the time, the tech notes and support searches yield no results-- so people really have few other choices but to come here to ask-- and often at the risk of getting their heads knocked off.
He nails it all the way in.Frodo wrote:Perhaps veteran users could spend less time worrying about the PDF questions of new members in favor of helping those members find answers to how DP works, such as was done here the way RA did for Nick. It would be ever so much cooler to take the high road with this issue....
It's gold, baby.Frodo wrote:...but that's just my 3• fwiw
I could have been clearer earlier but thought the following was obvious:Resonant Alien wrote:Thirdly, would I really be that hard to make a pdf manual, and not put the sticker on it? It mean, is there anything I could learn from the manual that I couldn't learn on here with a single post and a fews hours of waiting?
I'm with ya bro - I just don't get the whole "no PDF" thing....Apple puts the serial numbers on the discs themselves and gives you the PDF.
I'm so totally with you both!Resonant Alien wrote:And fouth, and finally. I tired to do the in store demo thing a few weeks ago. I live in the middle of nowhere Vermont, putting me 5 hours from the nearest store with DP in stock, letalone a demo. I honestly couldn't handle talking to the salesman.
Also with ya here.....
It used to only take a couple o' bananas, as there's quite a lot of grog in 'em, and I'm a monkey not a gorilla.James Steele wrote:LOL... usually I have to have a few beers before I start gushing about how much I love you guys.Frodo wrote:
