Why? The synth sounds *amazing*. There is no other synth I have that even remotely compares to the tone this thing generates.
Not saying I don't think they should get it working, or that I won't use it, but I bought this synth on it's sound alone. To me, *that* was what was important. I knew the integration part would have issues.

Why what? Why email them? So they realize there are DP users interested in the synth so they move it's TI compatibility to a front burner.
...sound and workflow are on equal footing in my world. As I've mentioned it's the Total Integration that has me interested.

Haha, no I meant why not get one. I guess for me the workflow issue is just not there. Since I use many non-integrated synths, it just works like the rest. Since there are only 4 (2 stereo) channels that come in through the USB, I'd just rather hook them up into my 896's, I have 24 channels at the moment and the CPU hit is negligble.
For me, sound is ultimately important (outside of stability of my DAW).

There's an update for the TI to 1.2.3. Still no mention of DP support. ...at the back of the bus we remain.

I did the upgrade. Still no softknob automation with the VC. Connecting with standard MIDI works great. I created a motu profile for the Virus TI. Email me if you want it!

With DP? I'm still not sure I understand TI/VC completely. Are you using the Virus as a VI plugin or are you just using the patch editor? How does the audio from the Virus get into your DAW, via audio or USB? -thx

It's a patch editor and more. Its manages patches and basically is two way commnunication with the Virus. Which can be use as a MIDI controller (for your other MIDI equipment) and as audio interface. I don't really use the controller or auido interface. I have the MOTU 828mkll for the audio. The controller will be great when it works but the problem is that the VC (virus control) plugin doen't play nice with DP yet.
Basically the Virus can be a normal MIDI keyboard (usb unplugged)
or (usb plugged in) You have the VC plugin interface to change or edit patches. You can set the audio to play through the VC (usb) or main outs (standard 1/4" pair) and switch back and forth as needed for latency or whatever.
Simply imagine the if it was mach4 but you had a physical mach4 piece of hardware on your desktop.
I hope that helps a little.

I have a TI and the VC plugin is amazing in Logic. I've also been a DP user for over a decade but just dabbling in Logic lately for reasons not apropriate in this forum. You get all the benefits of a softsynth plugin/Librarian/editor but you're using the processing from the hardware synth as well as the knobs.
When they get it working with DP you won't ever look back. It is the most gorgeous synth out there IMO and it's where all hardware synths will/should go in the future.
