Regarding "Direct to CD burning", this is the year that I drop Bias Peak LE and do everything within DP. It's also the year that I start using... ... ... ... markers!

Not that I'm complaining about it, but please remind me why someone would need to scale the TO vertically??
Would not that be almost a duplicate of the SE?? What could you accomplish now that you couldn't before??

If I understood it correctly, what I liked is that with Bounce & Burn you can chose to create your CD tracks with markers or with soundbite edges. Pretty cool.

Yeah, I noticed that, too.

I actually have used markers int eh past, extensively, when I worked on rebuilding all of the audio for a film last year. I just haven't worked markets into my work flow for songs yet. Crazy. I know.

I don't want to spend any money on upgrading Peak to Pro, and I want to use more and more plug-ins in a mastering chain, so I'm going to start using DP to Master projects in. combined with DP6's tracks folders and takes it'll be a totally organized solution for me.

Me too, and I couldn't be happier about the announcement... well... I guess I could be if they chose to give it to me free!

These new features are so worth it though... I'd pay the upgrade fee just for the CD burning.

Yes. No idea re. the MSRP, but I'd assume it's in the neighborhood of all their Sample players (MSI, Ethnic etc.)

Re. the "instrument tracks", I've always regarded Logic's way of doing this as a liability, not a feature. To each his/her own, I guess.

Of course, as long as they don't break the current mode, they can add what they want...

When you shrink tracks in the SE you lose most of the track info on the left hand side. Not so with the TO, the info is all in row. The problem with the TO currently is that it's too small for most folks, and without vertical zoom too inflexible. I've never been one of those people clamoring for vertical zoom, but now that DP has it I will be using it all the time. More control over the way info is displayed is always a good thing.

DP has always had the option of displaying the counter in a separate window with much bigger type that can be read from afar. What I would like is the option to scale it in the transport so that it doesn't have to be huge.

Well... in my case, I work in a consolidated window which has the tracks window ALWAYS showing in the top portion of my screen, while the sequence or MIDI editor always appears on the bottom half of the screen. (I keep the mixing console and other palettes on my second monitor.)

The advantage of vertical zoom would allow for customization in the division of these windows depending on the project at hand. If you are working with very few tracks, it might be nice to slightly increase the size of the tracks in the track window to make things feel a little more comfortable. If you have a large number of tracks, you might want to actually reduce the vertical height (making it even smaller than it is currently), which would allow you to have a complete overview of all the tracks, while still leaving space to work in the editor window below.

In the end, I think it is mostly about users being able to customize the look and feel of the DAW so that it works best for them.
