Arturia FX Collection 5 deal...

Arturia has a sale on FX Collection 5 and if you own any of their products and log in at their site, you might find a pretty hefty discount. There are a LOT of plugins in this collection. Normally $499. "On sale" for $399. My loyalty deal after I logged in was $99, so I went ahead an popped for it. That's pretty darn cheap per plugin.

Just did the math. 34 "products" for 99 bucks. $2.92 per plugin. (Yeah, yeah... I may never use most of them, but don't harsh by buzz, bro!)

Have you heard about the Arkenstone plugin? I can't stop thinking about it...

Don't worry, you have plenty of company in the dragon sickness ward...

Free "Inflator" style plugin

Read about this on another forum. Someone commented it wasn't half bad. Might be worth checking out:

UPDATE: Ignore this... it's a bust. Even after you use Terminal to remove quarantine, AU fails exam and VST3 loads, but doesn't seem to do anything.

Melodyne Assistant—do I need it?

I just got an email for a sale on the upgrade from Melodyne Essential (basically comes with DP) to Melodyne Assistant (reg $149, now $49).

The question is, what do I get?

Does Melodyne function within DP as a group of plugins or is it a standalone app (or both—like RX10)?

Yes to both.

The most advanced version you have (Studio, in my case) is the one that you will see in DP. If you have Assistant, you cannot select Essential.

Some functionality in DP only works if you have the VST3 plugin enabled in Settings. This includes Audio to MIDI in DP 11.2 and later.

Thanks, as always, Mike. It seems to be worth $49.

A complete comparison among the different editions of Melodyne can be found on this page

https://www.celemony.com/en/melodyne/me ... 5-editions

Interestingly, this says that Essential cannot do pitch to MIDI conversion but we know that it will in DP 11.2.

Essential will not perform up to the level in David Das’s video since that is a complex piano track.

Once you are on the Celemony upgrade track, further upgrades are surprisingly affordable.

Soundmorph DUST - Reg. $149 is $38 for 24 hours

Plus if you sign up for their newsletter they will sound you a code "SoundMorph10" which you can use at check out to drop 10% more off the price, reducing it to $34.20.

This is on sale for 24 hours which I'm pretty sure as of now isn't for much longer as I saw it posted about 3 hours ago and it's 1:36am here on the West Coast. It appears to be an ambient sound design kind of thing, described as a Binaural Granualar Synthesizer.

I'm always looking for another Wurlitzer. This one looks pretty good.

With a really nice demo from an un-named keyboard player…

Almost sounds like a Wurli-Rhodes Love Child. Nice demo indeed, but I would prefer to hear a Rhodes in such a jazzy setting, and the Wurli in more Americana-type stuff.

Yep… though I noticed they didn't use the speaker option for any of the demos, so hopefully, that will provide a little dirt when it's needed.

Purchased today, but no download (45 min later now). I realize they're on Dublin time and probably chasing their Jameson with Guiness, but still.....

You know, I'm not sure if it's applicable, but I remember when I used to take clean B3 type sounds, etc, and run a MOTU plugin after it to give it some dirt. I want to say it was PreAmp-1, but I just opened it up to take a look, and it doesn't look like the plugin I remember. For some reason I thought the GUI had a little representation of a tube or a circle and as you increased the drive it was reflected in the GUI? Strange.

I guess the idea is you can follow it with a saturation type plug and put some drive on it after the fact... not always perfect, but sometimes helps. :)

James, click on the little grey box to the right of the word "MOTU" (lower right-hand corner of PreAmp-1).

Got the download… my fault for using a different email for my PayPal account that I used to register on their site. They fixed it for me. Nice folks.
