There's a manual. C'mon guys. This is a non issue.

No it's not an issue. But I don't want to pay $70 for shipping duties and fees for a "manulette"

Dave told me the manual will ship with the discs. That's good enough for me.

But not a full printed one for the upgraders. Who wants to blow out a printer cartridge or two and a couple of reams of paper? Commercial print shops or Staples or Office Max won't touch copyrighted material either. Of course if one has an iPad that simplifies things (until the battery runs out).

I just confirmed it with MOTU.

"Please be aware that the boxed copy of DP9 only comes with a hard copy of the Getting Started Guide - the User Guide for DP9 is not being printed; it is available as a .pdf only."

Thanks for sharing the info guys.

An update manual might not be so bad for this version but I'd only want a PDF for that. The DP8 manual covers 90 percent or more of DP9 so that makes sense but I hope MOTU doesn't drop full length print manuals altogether.

Now I'm really glad I didn't order the boxed set.

btw, it also says "I left out most of the bug fixes, but let me know if you were hoping for a fix to a specific bug and I can tell you whether we were able to address it for 9.0."
Mark Miller posted that. He is not a mole. He is one of the MOTU employees/programmers coding DP at the moment. Literally.

Anything like 'Direct Hardware Playthrough' that works with the MOTU AVB line?

Manual: Spectrafoo okayed a print-on-demand hardcopy manual through Lulu.com, maybe MOTU might do something similar? Quality was good. It's really big though.

This was probably a copy-paste from DP8. The DP9 user guide (pdf) has actually 996 pages. ;)

I'm not among them. PDF is fine, but I like having the option of both.

And, thanks to that info, I won't. I can read a Getting Started Guide from a monitor.

$13 ain't much but is enough for a movie w/ senior discount and a small snack.

LOL!

Well as long as there's one - besides it's not like we need to go through it every day...

FWIW, there's also a full MX4 manual, on a separate pdf.
