Thanks for that tidbit. I just used that on a commenter on the YouTube video I posted of the NAMM DP8 demo. The commenter leaped to the conclusion that MOTU was late on DP8 (wrong) and therefore must be "scrapping" DP8! I don't know where people come up with these hair-brained things, but I jumped in and told him NO WAY that was happening!! Yeesh!!! :shake: :shake:

That's a silly conclusion for the person to draw. As if MOTU would just "give up" on DP8. LOL

Oh yeah... because of the Leap Year it is a day early.

Aside from SampleTank, I think that all of the plugins that I use regularly on are now 64-bit. DP8 will be most welcome when it gets here. During the night I was working on a project where I had to strip out a whole bunch of tracks and VIs just because DP could not handle it. I will be living in bliss when I can finally start working on my bigger projects without any hassles.

And when I get my UA Apollo, life will really be a dream.

I've got $195 say the announcement for pre-orders is tomorrow. Not bet, but to pay for the update.

I hear it sucks... LOL! MOTU must face. Apple, OTOH, must about face.

I am hoping this will be the best DP yet and without evidence one must face the conclusion it will be the best yet.

We can work it out logically. We know it will be the best Windows version ever. Mac>Windows. Therefore it will be the best Mac version.

Went to Sweetwater's Gearfest today and of course had to stop by the MOTU booth to ask how 8 was coming along. I was told it's only a few weeks or sooner before it's released. He didn't act ilke it was a secret to there ya have it. :D

Surprising that they were candid about that. Obviously any response they'd give they wouldn't act like it was a secret, because they wouldn't be telling you if it was. HOWEVER, it's very possible that "a couple weeks away" is their standard PR response, because it's pretty ambiguous. Now, at this point, "a couple of weeks away" wouldn't surprise me, as my original estimate was an early August release, but it could be that they would have said that 3 months ago too. For most companies that like to remain secretive (as MOTU does), all employees are required to give pre-written responses to certain questions.

Frankly, I'm glad it's not happening today or this week. I've been wayyy too busy to deal with a DP upgrade. Hopefully, July or August will be a better time for me.
