I thought you could do this earlier. I must be thinking of something else.

You could select multiple tracks and use Option/Win Page-Up/Page-Down to move them together, but not drag them with the handles on the left to move them all as a group in previous versions.

Sure wish I could check out some o' these new features. But I still can't get DP 10 to run on my Mac for more than 2 or 3 minutes without watching it freeze.

I'm working with MOTU, but no joy. I'd happily go back to 9.52 for the rest of my career. Really mad at myself for paying the $195 without trying the demo.
This may be my last MOTU upgrade. I've been a MOTU user and booster since Performer 1.7, so I'm hoping I can get it to run. But if not, Logic isn't crap anymore, and I've always got that on the machine.

What is the 'audio cache folder' that DP10 is creating inside all our old projects folders? They are all empty thus far, but they have just appeared after DP10

Wow. If you can't get DP10 working I don't know what to say. You've always been the "working great here" guy in all kinds of situations. Do you have more than one computer you could install on by chance? That would tell you something, if DP10 was stable on one and not the other....your graphics card isn't in your spec. With DP10's new scaling, m'be an issue...? I dunno you're usually the one with the solutions! Keep us posted.

Probably the cache for non destructive pitch and stretch operations so these operations can be "pre-gened", rather than real time. There is an option to turn it on and off in the track settings in the Sequence Editor.

My graphics card is a Radeon 7950... shouldn't be a problem.

I know, I'm always the "A-OK Here" guy, so this has me flummoxed. Already tried all the usual stuff, so I'm hoping my guy at MOTU has some fresh ideas.

What confuses me is the inconsistencies. V10 is just fine on my 2018 Mini and ancient MBP. I've been able reproduce a couple of bugs reported here, but nothing that's a show stopper. It's been running 8 to 10 hours a day since a few hours after it appeared on the MOTU site, with no crashes or freezes or dropouts, and that's with 8G RAM.

My system is clean by definition because everything has been installed for the first time, but yours is too from what you've told us. If such minor differences in setups can product such big differences in experience, I have to wonder how robust the code or the OS is.

Right. And I'm basically stable on my, not particularly clean, cMP that's very similar to Jim's. Confusing.

That one little difference can make a big difference. The challenge lies in finding that needle in a haystack of code. Good luck Jim!

That "needle in a haystack" is always in my thoughts when I report a "bug" to any company. I tried to learn coding in the early days of computing (around 1986) and the whole concept is quite daunting. I am in awe of these folks and how they make lines of code turn into any app, let alone something as wonderful as DP!

With the exception of a few odd quirks here and there, DP 10 is still performing incredibly well on my system.

I've just set up Logic, DP, DSP-Q and Mixbus 32C on a new Mac along with a long list of VIs and utilities, redoing all the preferences, key command, and screensets, and importing old projects to set them up in the new environment, and testing things all over again. That gives you an immediate sense of pros and cons.

Indeed, Logic is no longer crap, does a few things very well, and at least two much better than DP; drum editing and tempo mapping. But what an ugly unappealing interface to sit in front of all day. Light dull grey on dark dull grey. And what a confusing structure and signal path. I lost any sense of how it works when I saw MIDI data in an Aux track.

DP 10 is working just fine on my Macs and it's now what I start up with. I'm happy with the stuff DP10 added, but disappointed with things it didn't:

Meter Bridge: please MOTU, before I die of old age, a track selector in the Meter Bridge.
Drum Editor: let us create, save and retrieve Drum Maps without an ancient MIDI device group for an 80s drum machine. Or just ditch this relic and make changes to the MIDI editor like Logic did to accommodate drum tracks. (Note names and hide unused notes)
Waveform Editor: let us hear the changes our edits make in the context of the sequence we're working on.
Song Editor: let us play parallel sequences each in their own tempo. Why would we want to play one sequence at the tempo of another?
Mixer: let us resize the fader throw! why so tiny?

Actually, I'm very cautiously running DP10 now, with a surprising change to the set-up. Travis at MOTU suggested I click "Setup" > "Configure Audio System" > "Configure Studio Settings" and change the "Prime Milliseconds" setting from 125 to 500. Incredibly, it seems to be running great now.

So if anyone is having crashing in DP10, give this a try. The setting reflects how many milliseconds of pre-gen DP creates. It appears the MOTU boys know pretty darn well what's in their haystack!
