All MOTU would have to do is report known issues like Nuendo does with the release.
This would simplify beta matters and remove most of the pain of discovering problems in the middle of a session. Why they have not done this in the past is beyond me but since this thread was thrown into the off topic barrel, why not at least talk about it.
I suspect there will be a few issues as with any new software release with added features. This is normal and not a bad thing at all and in fact expected. I suspect DP will be better than most and I have a fair amount of faith this go around for some reason.
Again I hope they change the silence mantra and become a bit more straight forward about known issues. It would be refreshing and classy.

Same here Gary, and I reckon others would feel this way too.Timeline wrote:...I suspect DP will be better than most and I have a fair amount of faith this go around for some reason...
This is interesting to me because you'd not expect this to be the case after a massive GUI work-over.
To my way of thinking, this speaks volumes in terms of the new GUI's "clean and clear" look's ability to make us feel more at home and to trust the workings thereunder.
It's a thing of beauty, near as I can tell from half-way around the earth and at least 2 weeks separated in time.

Insulting the members here you might get away with. Insulting the host is where you may want to tread a little more lightly.bOing wrote:...And also to James for trying to remain light hearted and consistently off topic during this serious time.

I just put in my order, and noticed the "About MOTU" tab. I clicked, and read, "Mark of the Unicorn (MOTU) is a leading developer of music software and audio recording technology for personal computers. MOTU was founded in 1980 and has been developing music software since 1984."
Founded in '80, and developing music software since '84? What were they doing for the first three years?
- trying to get Performer to run on an Apple Lisa?
- sitting around and asking, "What's up with this MIDI thing anyway?"
- playing Pong on an RCA 13"
- attending high school
- court-ordered community service
Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't know about you, but the conceiving part doesn't take up that much time. Much to the chagrin of my paramour.

Hmmm... was I being insulted? I hadn't noticed. Must have something to do with how much some people's opinions matter to me.bOing wrote:MIDI, I went to school with a kid just like you.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Insulting the members here you might get away with.
