• Made track selections in the Sequence Editor more like in the Tracks Overview.
Worth the price of admission alone! I use the Tracks Overview as my primary window precisely because Sequence View didn't support this easy selection!
Now I won't have to use Tracks Overview during the editing or mixing phase of a project, or at least not very much.
I also won't need to do split view as much, enabling me to stick with taller tracks in Sequence View more of the time.
Of all the changes I see listed, this one will speed up my workflow the most.

I eye-balled the MOTU site but it wasn't clear to me. I hope they're still printing the 1000 page book. The PDF is great when on my workstation but I like reading the manual away from my workstation. I read the DP8 book cover to cover.
I'd apprciate it if someone would give me a clear answer and not slam me for not getting the info from the MOTU site or emailing them.
Thanks brothas!
My understanding is the manual/dvd is free, but you pay shipping cost (around $12)
Not from MOTU. Shipping is free.
Not true.

From the site:
"Boxed + Download (includes shipping charges)"
I'd say that's vague. It can be interpreted to mean that the price includes shipping charges, or it could be interpreted to mean the opposite. More or less the definition of vague.

Spectral analysis in the SE is a nice touch. I'll use that a lot.

OK, they didn't word it correctly. If the question was that the language is vague, you are absolutely correct.
But that was neither the question nor the argument which is whether or not MOTU charges to ship. As you check out, you get the shipping page and there is no way around it. I quoted it verbatim - even the bold is MOTU, not me. No mystery, nothing to argue. Not vague at all.

I paid the 195 upgrade and was immediately sent an email with my NEW authorization code so that the demo will be the final version.
Seems like Im done, now on to checking if the waves snap shot and paste automation problem is fixed?
Kudos to MOTU for MIDI muting.
Is there a list of bug fixes?

It is indeed clear whether or not you pay for shipping once you've got the order going.
I'm going to pass on the printed manual. The shipper will be required to calculate sales tax on $195US. They'll charge $20 to calculate the amount, and then they'll charge tax on that too. If it's UPS, they'll charge a second fee for calculating the second sales tax amount, and add on another $20 "handling" fee. The manual will end up costing me about $75. It's already on my iPad and that's good enough.

Do you care to elaborate a bit more on this? I don't fully understand this improvement, maybe because I use a consolidate window with 8 tracks of the mixer that automatically jumps to my track selection.
Thanks!

This means that you can do things like "Click track 1 then hold-shift and click track 10" to make a selection of tracks 1-10 now.
The Sequence window didn't support these basic things before. It was really frustrating.

Put another way: track selection in the SE window now follows common Apple conventions, as it already did in the TO window.

It works as it should in Windows as well.

Works the opposite for me with the ⌘ and ⇧ keys reversed from the way they work in the TO window.

Same here. I thought I'd wait a few days and see if a receipt is emailed.
Well the sale must have gone through because I got not just 1, but 3 emails from MOTU, each with a different DP Key code! I don't think they meant to do that.. I hope they didn't charge me 3 times!
Guess I'll use the key code from the first one and call or email them tomorrow..

They probably did.
