Is anyone else STILL getting the pop up MAS error when switching sample rates with DP7 & SL????

Nobody seems to have mentioned as yet if the mysterious problem (that some of us had and some of us didn't) has been addressed. drum roll please......IT WORKS....as it should!!!! No more skipping beats at the start of record. Phew!
I have to say DP7 is looking great.
Opps I changed it, good sopt I must have been time traveling.Kubi wrote:Mine arrives tomorrow. I have the same machine as you do (though as opposed to you, I run the antiquated OS10.6.1)
I've just installed DP7, David, and the CPU "Audio Performance" Meter is way high; over 60%. . . with just a few MIDI Tracks.David Polich wrote:Anyone running DP7 on a G5 under Tiger?

Well obviously something isn't right with your system or installation.tommymandel wrote:I've just installed DP7, David, and the CPU "Audio Performance" Meter is way high; over 60%. . . with just a few MIDI Tracks.David Polich wrote:Anyone running DP7 on a G5 under Tiger?

caveat
I haven't emptied out old System files that may be taxing the processor, nor have I repaired permissions, so this is just an early report, till I get some zzz's and do a more thorough test/play, in the morning...
James, please see my edited post right above your reply.... It was a 128 buffer setting I think. . . I threw out 2 preferences, repaired permission, restarted twice, but that did nothing. In the end, the sequence itself ran 30% more CPU intensive under DP6.02 than under DP7, so a non-issue. Thanks.James Steele wrote:Well obviously something isn't right with your system or installation.tommymandel wrote:I've just installed DP7, David, and the CPU "Audio Performance" Meter is way high; over 60%. . . with just a few MIDI Tracks.David Polich wrote:Anyone running DP7 on a G5 under Tiger?

If there is no audio what is being merged? Does it extend the resulting soundbite with a blank area of sound? That would be good when adding a plugin such as reverb on a short clip (where the tail would usually not fit, for example). If that is the case, I wonder if it would be possible to apply reverb of echo etc., to a short bite via plugin processing and have the resulting soundbite be extended for the duration of the plugin tail...? DP8 wish list? Is that even possible?BobK wrote:... Merge Soundbites can now include a time-range selection that doesn't contain audio.
From what I am understanding of the way the merge works in DP7, I would think the scenerio you described is possible right now as long as your merge selection extends long enough to capture that reverb tail. This new merging functionality is really a superb idea, since now you can create a merged audio file which starts right at the beginning of a bar (or of the song) without having to make sure there is a "piece" of blank audio there.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:If there is no audio what is being merged? DP7 arrived yesterday but I won't get to install it until tomorrow at the earliest. All my questions answered then...?
Cool! That'll make some post edits go much more quickly. Thanks.pcm wrote: This is how Pro Tools works. You can still do it the old way by just selecting the soundbites themselves, but at least now there is an easy way to include larger areas without having to deposit "dummy" audio in order to do so.
Please report back on your findings.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Rhetorical question. I'll find out soon enough.
That's the term I was looking for--- "Dummy" audio.pcm wrote:...but at least now there is an easy way to include larger areas without having to deposit "dummy" audio in order to do so.
There's always the Science Channel... LOLzed wrote: No more need for dummy audio.
