The latest mellow v6 has made me a convert from my beloved darker themes. It is superb.

Or maybe I am just getting more subdued with age....

Mellow v7 is available. A lot of great improvements that keep presenting themselves to me as I continue development on new themes.

Mellow v7: Love the black arrows for pulldowns. Much easier to get there, grab it, and move on. Thanks.

Andy, I have one issue to discuss, and that's the cursor line. While aesthetically I think the thin black line is nice, in practice it resembles other lines too much. For example, it can look like splices in audio tracks, or a selection line, or even bar lines. I think the green cursor is much quicker to single out with the eye. When it's moving, there usually isn't a problem, but just sitting there, especially on a bar line, it is slower to scan.

If you don't want the green line, maybe consider complimentary or contrasting colors. But as it is, I've more than once found myself doing a double-take when looking for the cursor.

That said, I think even the thin black cursor looks great. It's just easier to lose than the old green one.

I know I sound like a broken record when I say it, but the work is looking fantastic. I stare in disbelief at pretty much every theme you've made, and those for DP8 are no exceptions. The journey continues, and it's all great.

Shooshie - its pretty easy to change the colour - in the Style.xml file (open it in Text Edit) and search for WiperColour - you will see something like this:

<TEXT name="kWiperColor">33:30:22</TEXT>

Just change it to a different Red Green Blue combination - higher numbers are lighter (with white being 255). Its pretty easy to do. Save the file and then select the Theme again and bingo - changed colour wiper.

Further to my advice above - find a colour on screen you like, use the DigitalColour Meter app to find the RGB colour value. Then use that on the kWiper value.

Thanks, GG! I'll probably do that.

This mod will most likely replace Simple, but I haven't decided yet. I've been finding it extremely difficult to upgrade some of the older mods without the need to improve them... a process which eventually turns them into something else. Gotham was the first to undergo this transformation.

I wouldn't expect everyone to understand my reasoning, and I surely don't want to let a lot of my users down. Being a one man operation, I'm not sure how much energy I have to keep moving forward still bring legacy versions up to date. I'm beginning to have an inkling of what major software developers have to deal with in this area. Daunting.

Understood and I support whatever you choose to do. That's progress. The significance of your mods to the DP user community can't be overstated. :)

Ok, in Gotham I changed my cursor back to green, and I feel better about that. Now, does anyone know how to change the color of the text and symbols in the toolbar menus known as "Reshape Mode" and "Reshape Action" which are only active when the Reshape tool is selected?

Here are some pictures:

Reshape Action Menu

Reshape Mode and Reshape Action buttons look inactive. You can't tell what they are set to.

Does anyone know where to find those parameters?

Those are .png files. I'll invert them and include them in an update for Gotham. You can copy your Style.xml back into the update to get your green cursor back.

Looks like if they are inverted, they wouldn't show up in the menu. So, I looked to see what MOTU did. They gave them a white border so that they show up over dark background, but are unaffected in a white menu. You made the tools a shade of blue-green or turquoise; that could also be the color of the border.
