Hi!, mine is one of the last original Dual 2,7 sold by SamAsh miami. It has Tiger. I just received my 2Gigs... I‘ll post an update as soon as I can.

Not the memory...

Hi,

I installed the 2GB of extra Ram and that was not it... it turned out to be the PlayBack buffer, it was set at 150K samples and when I changed it to 200K samples the problem went away.

Still the performance is not stable in terms of responsiveness. The CPU meter marks about 25 to 40% tracking a 40+ channel session which is fine, but at some points the system will keep on playing or recording with no visual feedback in the timeline for a few seconds before I can get it to stop; meanwhile all the meters (CPU, playback and record) are in safe-zones(below 50%).

It has not crashed on me, but is kind of scary to record a stressed-out musician with a machine that at certain points does not respond to keystrokes and has a life of its own.

The upgrade was a good choice, but I‘m still not at the same confidence point I was with my trusty G4.

Has anyone experienced something like that? may be I'm missing some tweaking advice?
