hey gang,
just wanted to let everyone know. tech support got back to me. turns out I had to repair permissions on the digidesign-plug-in folder. (frikkin ProTools again). I blame them for all the evils of the world(just kidding). But they are a necessary EVIL. Anyway, I had many more problems with the install before I got it completely up and running. But, once I got m first email back from this one guy @ MOTU, he sort of became my case worker

This guy was the best!!! he emailed from there on extremely quickly. Kudos to the MOTU guys

I'm having the exact issue, but I don't have any digidesign hardware on my computer... Also, if select Custom Install - there is no text next to each check box except the last item (#5). Whenever I install something on my Mac it ask for the login & password. Already repaired permissions & that didn't help... I think MOTU had a batch of bad installer discs...

Tracked down a digidesign folder in the system - it was produced by E.A.S. plug-in installs. Deleted the folder the Mach 5 installed. I bought their plug-ins, but I'm guessing anybody that downloaded their free "Inspector" plug-in may bump into the same problem.
