i'd like to add to the list of people who would like to see the ability to use MIDI to control channel mutes. i don't want to buy an expensive controller for DP (well, actually I do...but I'm not going to because i can't/shouldn't :-) ) i think the fact that it's not there is pretty lame.

Agreed! I love Mackie as much as everyone else. Hell, I owe most of my early mixing chops to the 1604. But how does that relate to DP4? It doesn't. It's not pretty lame, it's really lame.

Well, you could use the "Commands" menu and assign a MIDI control to the "Play enable" function.

Sending this control and then hitting the note corresponding to the track (the base note is defined in the Commands mini menu, it corresponds to the first track, then other tracks are sequentially assigned to the following notes) would play enable or mute the corresponding track.

I haven't tried it yet, but it should work...
