Most of my VIs default to a PB value of 2 semi-tones. So, a value of 2048 would be pretty noticeable. Even though this issue has been solved using science, we still can't rule out I'm losing my mind.
I second the potatoes.

Thanks for this link. I've installed it and am able to see my controller misbehaving in real time.
Until I can fix or replace the keyboard, I've opted to disable Pitch Bend in the Setup > Input Filter, and can enable it when I plan on using PB.
I did a web search, and apparently, this is a fairly common issue with many brands of MIDI keyboard controllers.

Removing the pot & cleaning it can be pretty painless (depending on the keyboard). Won't always fix it, but sometimes it does. You could also try just exercising it a bunch to see if it clears the dust or whatever.
