So I guess there’s no way to get rid of that ugly orange iOSsy mic icon in the menu bar when DP’s in use?

Surely there’s a terminal hack somewhere. I’ll keep looking!
If Sequoia does away with this I'm in. Full screen mode isn't even a workaround.

So why does DP need the mic turned on in the first place? It worked fine for so many years without it. What am I missing?
DP 11.34. 2020 M1 Mac Mini [9,1] (16 Gig RAM), Mac Pro 3GHz 8 core [6,1] (16 Gig RAM), OS 15.3/11.6.2, Lynx Aurora (n) 8tb, MOTU 8pre-es, MOTU M6, MOTU 828, Apogee Rosetta 800, UAD-2 Satellite, a truckload of outboard gear and plug-ins, and a partridge in a pear tree.

All DAWs, notation apps etc. This caused a huge fuss on some boards when the MP 6.1 came out with no built in microphone. It took Finale and Apple a year to get around that one. Apparently, they did.

Actually, the macOS has required it as long as I can remember. At some point, Apple stopped allowing developers to turn it on automatically. Now it must be granted manually.

I ought to have this as a copy and paste response.
