I accept no responsibility.Killahurts wrote:Unfortunately, you've inspired me to want to want to edit themes again, and the wheels in my mind are already turning as to how I can justify the time it's going to take.
Good question. I get a fair amount of daylight (though up where I live, we’ll be down to less than 8 hours of daylight before long). My biggest window is behind my monitor and faces north and two smaller windows face south and east, behind and to the left of where I sit. I have track lighting, which is on a dimmer, along with a few lamps, so I can control the light around my workstation pretty well.labman wrote:Nice work Rick. What is the lighting like in your room?
Very nice. With my old eyes i am the opposite. Need earth tones to stay sane.Rick Cornish wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 1:22 pmGood question. I was used to a 27” Cinema Display, which—in its day—was very nice, but is pretty sad by today’s standards. Being an Apple display, the OS looked very good (as it does on the Retina display on my MacBook Pro) and the screen was super-contrasty, so that may be driving my vision for a theme on my new 4K LG. Even with my best screen tweaking, the OS graphics in the dock look a little washed out compared to the Cinema screen, which I think is typical of 3rd party monitors running MacOS. I’m using a predominately black desktop picture, which looks awesome, so there’s nothing wrong with the screen.
I normally wear progressive bifocals and my eye doc made me a pair of computer glasses that work pretty good at 24-30”, but bringing out the little numbers in the ruler and mixer labels really helps.

Thanks for the idea, bayswater! Check this out…bayswater wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 4:43 pm …The other things I added was different shades and transparencies for the fader knobs to tell you the status of a track (mute, solo, record, etc). I also made big ugly velocity icons for the MIDI editor, but MOTU seems to have dealt with that in recent updates.
Nice. I like the idea of making things way to identify in a quick scan. The is similar to what I did. I also blurred the image of the fader for Muted tracks, and I used yellow for the Solo faders. I'm not certain you can still isolate a soloed fader but you could when I did it. I'll refresh my theme when I update to V11, and swipe a few of your ideas.Rick Cornish wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:53 pmThanks for the idea, bayswater! I’m going to try the yellow fader knob for soloed track. That would look nice.bayswater wrote:Nice. I like the idea of making things way to identify in a quick scan. The is similar to what I did. Most eyeglasses insurance plans promise a free set of glasses and then you find out that promise is nearly worthless. Long time ago I realized that I could get my computer glasses under that clause — plain frame and lens, nothing fancy.Rick Cornish wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 1:22 pm …

Thanks, Mike…. it wouldn’t have happened without your recommendation on the monitor. Thanks again for sharing your expertise (both in technology and deal-finding)!mikehalloran wrote:Anyway, it’s nice to see that new monitor has inspired your creativity, Rick. If my church groups ever start meeting in person, I may have the time to be similarly inspired. Looks great!
I plan to post this theme for anyone who wants to try it out once I get it to a place I could reasonably call "v1.0."
