Same here,

Looking at the apple crash report, it looks like it's a rewire issue:

Code: Select all

se.propellerheads.rewire.library	0x0000000120a565fb RWIsReWireMixerAppRunningImp + 11451
9 se.propellerheads.rewire.library	0x0000000120a5b6af RWIsReWireMixerAppRunningImp + 32111
10 se.propellerheads.rewire.library	0x0000000120a5bf92 RWIsReWireMixerAppRunningImp + 34386
11 se.propellerheads.rewire.library	0x0000000120a538e5 RWM2OpenImp + 85
The workaround for me is to launch a rewire app (logic in my case) then launch DP.

Will report to motutech.

No go here. After doing the plug-in disable dance, I manually dragged all the AU and VST out of the Library and it still crashed on launch. Gonna try to go back to 11.0. This is really a downer...

First thing to do is attempt to open DP without plug ins enabled.

A goofy but often effective fix for weird crashes like this with updates is to move your DP related preferences to the desktop, (in case it doesn't fix the issue you don't have to rebuild your preferences etc.)

Here's the tech link covering this. :)

Shut down before rebooting. See if you still have a problem

If so, launch DP on Safe mode by holding the Shift key. After DP boots, quit and relaunch DP. See if you still have a problem.

Any replies that state one shouldn’t have to do above will be ignored.

Please let us know your specs, your OS at least. That might help folks help you if still you want to update
Just updated my sig. Sorry, it's been awhile since I've responded to threads here. Thanks for the link!

Sorry to hear about problems with 11.01.

In my case, it is working very well.
Seamless transition from 11.0.

Looks like MOTU is 'on the case' with bug fixes.

I am curious about one new feature... MIDI Track Protocol Settings Window
Not sure where to find it.

The fader height thing is nice, but both medium and tall are way too tall for my use.
Dynamic setting doesn't get the height right for me.
Short is too short.
Not a big deal.

I'm happy that MOTU is continuing to develop and improve DP.

Is this because of the latest news on Roli? I've got a Seaboard Block and a Linnstrument. I do prefer the Linnstrument for multiple reasons, mainly that Linn could go out of business tomorrow and it would still work, and the fingering doesn't lend itself to possible bad technique.

The key to fixing the dp 11.01 crash is to delete the propellarheads application support folder. There is a rewire driver in there that dp 11.01 is not ignoring even though dp does not officially support rewire any longer.

If you ever run ableton live it may try to repopulate that application support folder again and would later cause dp to crash I guess. I think there is a way to disable ableton from doing that, google it.

But removing the propeller heads application support folder cured the problem. I don’t know what will happen if and when I try to use my reason plugin or ableton live again it might be that I will need to periodically delete this rewire malware.

Especially since the appearance of ReasonRack, no need for the Rewire link ... 8)

So, if I don't have or use Reason, but, I have and use Ableton Live 11, this will cause the new DP 11 update to have issues? Just want to check in here before I update!...;-)

Thank you!
