Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
I've tried reading it a couple times. It's really hard to follow.

I've got two screen shots, but I can't find the upload link here on Motunation. Please tell me where it is and I'll put them up.stubbsonic wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:26 am It would be good to start a support ticket on this one. Seems like a new bug they should fix quickly. Get some screen shots a good example project and get on there with MOTU support.

Anywhere like Dropbox, where you can copy a URL and post it here.muscletn wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:01 pmI've got two screen shots, but I can't find the upload link here on Motunation. Thanks, Bayswater! Here they are. The first shot is the unprocessed audio. The second is the processed, destructive plugin (Soundtoys FilterFreak 1).

Again, for people having a difficult time following this, I did not apply either of the fades as shown in the second screen shot. DP did it for me, and without my consent!

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
Thats entirely different from what I saw. Don't know what to make of it.

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
I'm sorry, I'm still not entirely following this.
Given that DP can't crossfade a soundbite that doesn't have "unrevealed" data past the edge-- and time stretch creates a new soundbite that has no unrevealed data past the edge-- is the crossfade glitch caused by this issue? In other words, is DP changing the crossfade to a fade-out because there's nothing in the adjacent SB to fade in?

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
It looks like there are at least two different things going on that may or may not be related. The one that I came across is more to do with the placement of the crossfade which does not appear to be related consistently to the soundbites' borders. I'll be playing around with this more, then posting a tech link if I can come up with a simple repeatable anomaly.stubbsonic wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 9:04 am I'm sorry, I'm still not entirely following this.

The images posted by muscletn are perhaps resulting from the way the soundbites are selected when the crossfade is drawn?

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
I isolated a small soundbite to illustrate the issue. It was "in the clear" of anything around it. In the second screenshot you'll notice a bit of audio that preceded the destructive plugin target. That extra bit of audio was just in the expanded view of my screenshot, and wasn't part of the destructive plugin target.
Does this make sense for everyone?

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
The important thing to note is that with DP versions prior to 10, and now 11, after executing the destructive plugin command NO fades appeared.
