DP 10.1 corrupting files on file save?

Is this happening generally across both the Mac version and the Windows version?
I take it this is only happening to older files opened in 10.1 and saved as 10.1.

For those with the problem, have you tried checking what app your OS is associating with the DP document files? Sometimes the installation of a new version updates the application but doesn't update the associations between applications and documents. So, for example, it might be trying to open a 10.1 document with v10.01. That happened to me somewhere in the DP 9 update series.

If this is the cause, the Get Info window is the place to fix it on a Mac. For windows, I don't know.

Please let us know the details of the solution.

It is a very important thing to be able to save and restore sessions.
Your post brought this in to a very worrying focus.

Many of us depend on DP for our bread and butter.

If we can't save and restore sessions reliably, we are out of business.

Please elucidate.

I won't recount my whole long story, but yeah, similar issues to what's been described. Tried saving from 10.1 as a V9 file (actually it says V7-9) but then 9.52 would only open 2 out of 3 files. The third would not open even after a couple of tries and Load wouldn't work either (same error messages as listed above). I had to rebuild that one from scratch, but the weird thing was the WAV files created in 10.1, when brought into a fresh 9.52 file instead of coming in at measure 3, the time stamp was measure 1800 and some change. Nudge city and guesswork to get WAV's back in the right place.

I'm back to 9.52 for the foreseeable future.

is this issue always accompanied by a file error? I was working on a project until all of a sudden it will no longer let me play back. I can open the file, and move around in it, but as soon as I hit play, DP hangs. I don't get any kind of warning or error message...it just waits for me to force close it.

super frustrating--I've had nothing but problems since (trying) to come back to DP.

i've had the same issue, so far only with one file. do we need to send the file to MOTU to get it fixed? i was able to "Load" and easier version, but i'd like the latest one back, please...i have also found that on successfully loading the earlier version, if i try the Load command to load the corrupt version, it crashes and corrupts the new (loaded old) version as well so i can't open it any more - in a strange way: when i reopen DP, and click on the new file, it simply jumps back to the Quick Start screen - it doesn't open the file OR crash!

OK - 10.11 is just out, and for me has solved this issue. old files that had appeared corrupted are opening normally now. if the OP finds this fixed, let's mark this one "RESOLVED" (whew!)

I've had no problems with 10.1 and 10.11 with saving and restoring projects.
