I sent a tech link a couple of days ago and got an email saying they’re working on it. So someone is there and will be responding. I’m sure they’ve got their hands full.

Anybody noticing the copy and paste function not working properly in Quckscribe Mode in DP10?
answer: uncheck allow measure selection in quickscribe mini menu - note: actual selection does not correspond to measures when using allow measure selection (? )

I wasn't concerned about updating DP, because in the past, I could always go back to an earlier version of DP.

But, DP 10 seems to have erased DP9 - it's gone - (is that true or am I missing something?) and all my earlier versions of DP now want me to insert my installation disc and serial number.
answer: yes version 9 is probably overwritten - you can re-install it

So I seem to be left with one version of a slightly buggy Digital Performer. (Lots of workarounds still.)

I also notice iLock cloud does not seem to work with DP10 - I had to transfer licenses to a usb iLok -

DP10 install seemed to also mess up Waves version 9/10 distinction - i had to re-install some Waves Plugs, always a little ugly.

Looking forward to DP version 10.2

DP still rules for me of course.

I just discovered another very major problem. When I tried to do a bounce to disk, I got the first window (Bounce to Disk), selected the file format, chose the folder, pressed OK and got the next window (Core Audio Export Options). However, when I tried to change the Bit Depth and Sample Rate to match my project (24/bit/48k), the right side of the window started becoming blank, making the OK button invisible and inaccessible. This makes bouncing to disk - and completing a project - impossible!

Anyone else having this issue?

Seems to be OK here. I tried a few options on a short soundbite and could not reproduce what you see.

Is there a way to post images here? I could show what happens.

Put the image on a hosting site. Put the URL in your message, select/highlight it and click on "img" in the list of editing controls just above the text box where you compose your message.

Moving my reply here from the Windows thread the other day...

I'm also seeing the white blocks when using UI Scaling. (I'm running a 3,1 8 core on OS10.11.6 with an NVIDIA GT120 512MB graphics card).

If it's an El Capitan issue my early 2008 Mac Pro can't go any higher so I hope MOTU can fix it.

Cool. It's intermittent for me. I can't seem to make the blocks happen on newer projects. I'm only seeing them on large older projects started in DP9...but, for a few reasons I'm mainly working in 9 still. So that observation may be premature.

Actually, you can install later versions of macOS, but workarounds are involved. If interested, take a look here:

The Mac Pro forum at Macrumors is a great resource for all Mac Pro owners.

Thanks HCMarkus - took a quick look this morning - when I have some extra time I'll check it out further. Looks like a lot of info to go thru, not to mention the obvious risks involved.

Lately I'm in "if it ain't broke..." mode, having recovered from a few episodes of mac misery in the past year.

Cheers! RD

A brief update regarding the UI scaling issue on a 3,1 Mac Pro running El Capitan:
HCMarkus wrote: Actually, you can install later versions of macOS, but workarounds are involved.

HCMarkus: Yesterday I decided to dive in and give dosdude1's High Sierra Patcher a try on my 3,1. So far the update worked without a hitch. Knock on wood. Thanks again for the tip!
dix wrote:The bugs I'm seeing:

dix: After updating to High Sierra and a fresh DP10 install I was able to scale the UI with no white blocks appearing. This was just a quick test but I think it may be an El Capitan issue for 3,1 Mac Pros. You might want to try the HS update (keeping your El Capitan drive as a backup, of course). Good luck!

I have my old 3,1 cheese grater sitting in storage as a backup. I may just pull it out and make this upgrade now while I can! Thanks for the super info, guys!

Thanks. The problem is just intermittent enough that I can’t tell. I couldnt get the white blocks to happen in HS, but when I went back to El Cap I didn't see them the rest of the day either. I’m mainly working in 9.52, because of other known issues, so it’s tough to troubleshoot. HS doesn’t redraw as fast as El Cap so I’m not sure I’d stay with HS just to avoid this.

I posted a TechNote about the white lines in El Cap. Got this response:

"Thanks for reaching out. This is an OS 10.11 issue that we've specifically addressed. The fix will be in the next update. Thanks for your patience."

So they're working on it, and several other things, too.
This posted in the Windows thread on this issue. So yes, an El Cap issue.

Now. When will we see the update? Anyone have an inkling?
