You do that, Stoivo. Pointing to the SP is like blaming your sister. Naughty boy!
MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Shouldn't that be CDs? Even the spell checker agrees. Lol... I mean LOL. Ha ha ha...
Yeah, it's CDs, Magilla. That's easy. It'd be LOLs too.

Lesson time for naughty Unicorns:
IMHO, acronyms are no-brainers 'cause they're comprised solely of capitals, thereby differentiating themselves strongly from their "s" suffixes.

Note that I said "they're" and not "their" - another bleedin' internet-disease flavour.

Monkey's tip:
Hey, if it's a plural, just add an "s". Why, in this, the age of convenience and short cuts, folks have chosen to add a character to have to type is beyond me.

Lastly, anyone noticed (I'm sure you have) that this apostrophe disease has spread to its being used pretty much in / with any word ending in "s"? Thankfully I've worked through the frustration and now laugh out 'loud at the sheer ignorance of some. Cruel, I know, but the only way I can deal with it.

There. I feel better now. Carry on. Ignore the simian. The little one, that is. That big oaf, the mighty Magilla, is your "man".

I believe you are correct, sir. Just throwing more gasoline on the fire with yet another typo. I meant CD's (with the apostrophe as an example). But I must admit that I am sometimes guilty of the apostrophe addiction when dealing with acronyms. Perhaps the gentle monkey chastise will make me see the errors of my way's.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Back to topic - I've been using 10.10.2 for a couple days now and have not noticed any problems. Seems the same as 10.10.1 on my system.
Sorry for the tangent. I'm so easily tempted.

Careful. You'll get Monkey all excited again. He's been reciting PI all night.

I can't resist a nice tangent either. On 10.10.2, I guess it didn't it fix anything for you? Or did you not have issues with 10.10.1?

Apple 2nd level tech is looking into the shutdown problem when turning off my TB SATA dock. Really strange stuff. I did a full export of all data to Apple yesterday. Took about 30 minutes with their automated app. Other than that 10.10.2 seems to be working fine. Gotta update the sig here... Oooooops!

I've had no issues with 10.10.1 so no real changes here. I'm not using any TB devices, so I can't comment on the bug MLC is seeing, but from what he's experiencing it sounds like it may be a real bug.

It is. Otherwise why would 2nd level have me do a Capture Data (that's the dmg they sent) and then send them a 2 GB report? THe thing is (I'm repeating myself here) it DID NOT do this in 10.10.1. I use the same procedure all the time. Mount the SATA orin the TB dock, pull the data I need, eject the SATA drives, shut the TB dock power. Weird. BTW, it's a Rockstar dock - and I'm sure glad I caught that last word in the spell checker before James saw the o was changed to an i.

Besides sending in the report, have you talked to an AppleCare tech?

When scanning got weird with OS 10.6, then broke with OS 10.7, Apple treated my issue as if it was HP's problem, then mine. Eventually a tech logged in and duplicated it without accessing the printer drivers. As the problem changed with subsequent updates, I was able to talk techs through it so they could see it on their own stations. It wasn't till OS 10.8.2 when Apple finally got it fixed.

With the Time Machine restore bug in 10.9.4, three 2nd level techs couldn't figure it out. A fourth told me to wait a few days for 10.9.5 which had the bug fix -- and he was right.

I've been on the phone with the same level 2 tech guy several times and for long hours, so yes, I have their attention for sure.

Lucky for me my bandwidth's knackered. I can do text only ATM. The Telstra ('phone company and infrastructure provider) guy replaced cabling out on the street 2 months ago and it's now rare that I can do anything besides the aforementioned. The company claims it has done all it can.
