Yet feature films to Grammy nominated works are written without it. How do they do it? LOL...
Im totaly aware of that. I dont claim DP a bad product, Im just realizing, that Im used to a completely different workflow. Thats not good nor bad but just what it is.
I now have to check if I can change my workflow to work with DP. Often it helps watching other poeple and their specific workflow.

Does anybody have a good pool for videos of that kind?

I warched the videos from groove3 some time ago and they were helpfull but didnt really fit this topic.
Especially working with MIDI would be of great interest.
I use CubasePro and to a lesser extent StudioOne and find their object orientation to be extremely helpful.

There's really nothing like a MIDI "object" or "clip" in DP. If it is important to your workflow, it will be a problem. (It is for me personally anyway, but that's my personal preference for how I work. Neither better or worse nor good or bad, just my preference.)

I was hoping that there would be some sort of events or clips with DP 9, but so far no such love.

As to videos, there's a tonne on YouTube. I think for what you want, you might need to look at videos demonstrating composition for films for example, and you can infer some of the info you want. Check out some videos from Thinkspace (http://thinkspaceeducation.com/) on YouTube.

Good luck.

This is frequently requested by those that are coming from elsewhere (I requested this when I first picked up DP, too). The closest there is currently is making selections in the tracks view, and using duplicate commands and similar. I've managed to get used to it, but it's not for everyone.
I'd love MOTU to add objects as a view layer in the sequence editor...it'd be amazing to be able to switch between that and inline editing (which i also really like) on the fly.

Totally agree. Such an option would be stupendous.

The interesting thing is that DP has all this functionality for audio (through audiobites). One would think that replicating a similar workflow for MIDI wouldn't be too hard to conceive. :-)
