phew----well I'm glad we cleared up that DP didn't recognize VST plugins in DP7. I'm sure that was a mystery to everyone here……I'm glad we could have this exchange over a legacy version of DP.

Hey Gabe! Been a while!

Gabe? Meet Mike.
Mike? Meet Gabe.

Gabe goes back a long way in this forum, although he sometimes "comes and goes" as most of us do, so there are periods during which we might not see him for a while. (Maybe he posts in other parts of MOTUNation... I don't know) Both of you guys go way back with DP, back to the early Performer days, if I'm not mistaken. You're both highly competent musicians as well as highly competent DP users and Mac users. I'd take advice from either of you unquestioningly, though like both of you I've got my own opinions, and when there's any doubt, I'll always go my own way.

When I first read Gabe's statement about VST, I did a double take, but then realized what he was saying, and yes, I always did the same thing. I installed all the plugin formats provided, because sometimes I'd open an application that needed to use VST or whatever. I think we all are on the same page there. Gabe certainly didn't mean that DP ever used VST prior to version 8. (or was it 7? See how quickly we forget?)

Anyway, I think Gabe was absent for a period when Mike began frequenting the forum, so I just wanted to formally introduce you guys. So, here's to experienced, opinionated, sometimes bull-headed, knuckleheaded DP experts, the kind of guys who make this forum great for everyone!
