Campbell, at Motu tech support service, did reproduced the 2dB behaviour in mono and stereo Trim plug.
Motu development staff is now aware of it.
Crossing fingers...

And still not solved in DP 8.07 with Yosemite.

Good! Of course, that's one thing on a growing list that needs fixing. But I won't complain here. Anything they fix is a small victory, worthy of praise!

Still happening with a fresh install of DP 8.07 OS 10.9.5
Not happening with DP7 Yosemite.

Well, I think it's been solved with OS10.10.4.
For DP8 / OS10.10.4 works as expected: 1dB increment, here...
