Yes. The template holds that setup. The reality for me is, throughout the production I add 5 times more tracks then set in my template so I would need those to begin at the off position. If I ignore resetting all the sends to 0 then I end up with a mess. I find little reason to use the unity compared to general tracks so a simple opt or control hold down would suffice for me to set unity when creating tracks in unity when needed.

Yes, I add tracks as I go too. A less than ideal workaround is to have a template that has the track types, routings and configurations you typically want, and use the Add Similar Track command to create more tracks.

1 - Cannot adjust font size
2 - Ability to modify multiple tracks simultaneously in Event Viewer
3 - Always-On-Top option for Plugin-pages

A few other minor things, but those are my top three.

Until MOTU gives you what you want, I suggest you guys try clippings. It can't be easier to set up a library of tracks exactly how you want and then just drag them as needed into any project.

Interesting Dan, can you explain a little bit more about this? I can't add a track in a clipping window.
This could be a nice solution.
Best regards.
Armando.

EDIT/ I got it, I was used to drag things in to clippings window, but I RTFM and found the "copy to clipping window" option. :headbang:

Great tip Dan. Thank you!

That in the Sequence Editor audio tracks, the cursor changes from "edge edit" to "time stretch" within a few pixels. Cannot count the undos I've had to do because of this. Time stretch should require a modifier key.

1) Unable to change tiny fonts to larger.
2) Bring back the "enable consolidated window" button. Took me about an hour to help someone who's considering a change from PT to DP to resolve this. He wants his DP windows spread out over 3 monitors. The workaround is very kludgy. Both the online pdf and print manual still show the button!
3) Please fix the jerky video and windows when working to picture for those of us on older Macs. 7.24 was fine!

I want all 4 arrow keys to move automation points not just sideways but up and down too.

When doing volume automation if you click too high up in the track it switches out of volume mode and back to Soundbite mode. If I'm editing volume automation I want it to stay in that mode.

When zooming in on waveforms the graphic gets real blocky and low res and then suddenly jumps to higher res if you keep zooming. Completely unacceptable IMO. This started with v6 I think (I'm still in v7 and it persists). It wasn't like that in previous versions, they seriously changed the whole waveform drawing at some point and broke it IMO.

1. No way to assign a soft or hard synth to a section of the keyboard, so you cannot split a keyboard down the middle between two soft synths for instance.

2. As Shooshie said, beat detection needs a rewrite.

3. The fact that dynamic phrase parsing is the only way you get blocks of MIDI data in the Track Editor. IMO you should be able to cut, paste, and glue parsed blocks of MIDI data like you can audio. (again only in the Track Editor, it's great being able to see all the data on a track in the MIDI editor and Sequence Editor.

The way those MIDI blocks behave now is pretty much USELESS.
There wouldn't be any difference if we didn't have them in the first place.

And they will remain laughable until MOTU finally decides not to be the only remaining DAW in the planet without TRUE MIDI-Audio REGIONS!

Actually, I can not believe I forgot to mention this on my prior 5-point list.

Let me say this again: MOTU, we really need true regions. This will have the side benefit of making DP smarter when it comes to snipping, moving and pasting stuff (so no weird ramps that mess up automation are created). :smash:

1. Close all plug-in windows is now control-shift-command W. Before all you had to do was option click one plug-in window for all to close. I actually was shut out from a couple of songs after option clicking because that closes ALL windows and I couldn't figure out how to reopen them.
2. The red record graphic in the sequence window is slightly above center and appears louder than the source. It realigns and shrinks to normal size when the record pass is done. Weird and misleading.
3. Can't reorder plug-in folders in plug-in window

Not deal breakers...

1) tiny fonts
2) no individual MIDI note muting
3) soundbites in SE that are highlighted should be also be highlighted in the soundbite menu

I've not been using DP long enough to find it annoying  , but... I do miss MIDI regions and and the ability to mute individual MIDI events.

Actually, one other thing I miss from Cubase is an overall project notepad, it could be that I've just not found it in DP yet though. :)
