Hi guys,
so I contacted MOTU support and we figured out the problem. Nothing to do with resource forks, file types, etc. It's simply a bug in DP7 and perhaps lower versions as well (I skipped versions 4-6). It's not a known bug, they didn't know exactly what the problem is.
My old Mac with OS9 and DP 3.11 opens the project and MOTU support's Mac opens the project in DP8, but not in DP7. He sees the same behaviour that I see.
