I DID IT!!! After not being able to deal with this problem anymore, I had to start from scratch. I have the 424 card in a Magma expansion chassis for my laptop so I figured I would start there. I removed the SCSI card that I had in there and low and behold, NO MORE POPS AND CLICKS!!! My guess is that it is an architecture problem on the PCI bus. I could be way off for some of you having the same problem, but having the 424 be the only card on the bus, it fixed my problem. Not sure what this means for any of you with a tower and a graphics card, but it worked for me. Hope it all works out for you guys, and thank you all for your ideas and keeping the thread alive. It seems that someone was out there listening...

Re: Digital Clicks From New 24I/O
I'm having exactly the same problem with the 424 card in a G5 dual 2.3, and no other PCI cards in place! The Ronin wrote:I am using a brand new 24 I/O. I have outputs 1-2 enabled for playback, but I am seeing sporadic output on #3 (NOT ENABLED FOR OUTPUT). When I see the output on ch 3, that is when I hear the clicks in my monitors. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated...
The Ronin
The clicks always appear on the left channel when listening in stereo, and are shown on the meter for channel 3 even when it's not in use!
If I switch to any other pair of outputs the problem stays in the left channel, and shows in the meter of the next channel up!
I have replicated this in a G4 MDD dual 867 under os X and OS 9!
Anyone made any progress with a fix please let me know.
MusicTrack in the UK have replaced my 424 and the 24 I/O but the problem remains.
Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.
