Cool as sh*t.!
I give them to my young daughter, and I tell her that it came from a company who is always doing something more than they have to in order to help their customers. She's 8 and she gets it..
James, whenever I need to get something from them from now on, I will come here and click through.. what a great sponsor!

I have gone through 3 reps over the past 10 years (they eventually move on, or get a tour/gig)- all have been solid. My current one is Tim Harrington, he is great. They will indeed match prices and will work with you. The last big ticket item I bought was a California Blonde 2 amp about a month ago, and even though I technically could have gotten it a bit cheaper elsewhere, I still chose to go with them out of respect for past service. They also went out of their way and were able to get it here the day of the gig. I really appreciated that...

Who doesn't love candy? It's the first thing that I look for when a package from Sweetwater arrives!! Love that company and as a person that detests soliciting phone calls, I actually like hearing from my rep. He only checks in a few times a year and when ever it happens I appreciate it. I have always said that there is no better business model that Chuck Surak's Sweetwater!!
Cheers-Jeff

I'm British and I live in Britain....but I have been to Sweetwater TWICE .... that's how good it is!
I have a variety of items in my studio which I purchased there and brought home... Greg Baum is my contact and he is brilliant....he organised a tour of the studios and all of the other facilities which are staggeringly awesome ...as is the warehouse...wowsa!!
Oh how I wish we had a Sweetwater in Britain...or even if they shipped overseas, that would be good!
Long live Sweetwater

Wow, they make amps for those? I wonder if Sweetwater sells just the blonde without the amp? Can you get them about 35 years old?
Ahh, so you're wanting a vintage CA Blonde..

Yes! I've purchased thousands of dollars worth of hardware & software from Sweetwater over the years! I love their "No Interest for 12 Months (or 18 Months)" specials. This is in addition to their normally lower priced merchandise. And the candy? Love the candy! (By the way, Sweetwater, I really, really, really love the Tootsie Roll candies! )
And James. . . As you've mentioned in past posts, maintaining this web-site is a "hobby" of passion for you. Thank you for taking the time to maintain it, both in time and financially. It's a great source of information not only for MOTU products but for general computer, composing, sequencing issues too. Thank you.

I bought a lot of stuff from Sweetwater in the past when the $C was running about 70 cents US. The advice and service was good and the sales people were very helpful. But now with the two currencies are running at about the same level, local prices are generally at or below Sweetwater's.
If that's all it was, I'd still be buying from SW, but the real problem is the sum of shipping fees, and all the other brokerage, handling, boxing, etc. charges added on by everyone that touches the item at the Canada-US border.
I guess I should re-phrase my question from earlier...
Is it of any value to come to Motunation and click on the banner first if I'm going to order something from Sweetwater? Does that matter at all?

Hit monitoring on banner ads is a nearly universal practice at this point so, yes, clicking from here when you want to buy will send a message to Sweetwater that their ad dollars are well-spent on this site.

OK, thanks jloeb.
Well I just thought of a cool automatic-reminder way to do this.
I've got a Sweetwater bookmark on my browser toolbar. All I have to do is edit the link itself to be Motunation.com instead. That way I'll always be prompted to CLICK THE BANNER!
