Besides that bug, there's another. Depending on how many and which playback tracks are muted, the input monitor on my 828mkII may or may not work.

There's no rhyme or reason to it that I can see. Muting 9 or 11 tracks may work while 10 or 3 may not. Adjacent track or not? It depends. When I add another track, everything changes, of course.

The workaround as to fiddle with it and knock down faders but, if I have automated a track, I have to unlatch it and so on...

Doesn't keep me from working but does slow down the process and is very annoying.

I wonder if the two problems aren't related.

Thanks for confirming mikehalloran
The hardware playthru level bug goes back to at least DP 4.61...
Your observation and similar inconsistencies I read about here are related to DP 8, at least I have never had something like this with 7.24

It's time to ask again, sorry James
Is this bug, as described in this thread earlier, fixed in DP 8.06 ?
Short description:
It is the fader attenuation vs actual level attenuation that differs in rec and play mode...

Rec: Reduce fader from 0dB to -24dB reduces the actual level only by 12 dB Play: Reduce fader from 0dB to -24dB reduces the actual level by 24dB.

The playback mix is not the same as the input monitor mix...

Motu ?

Thanks for clearing up

and best regards to all

Klaus

The bug is older
I've invested in new hardware...
The software, I don't know, maybe when DP8.xxxxx fixed it
