Did you all use the "Create Sequence With Selection" menu from the Sequence Editor's Mini-Menu? That's what made it happen for me. Copying in the Chunks Menu didn't have any such effect.

Dani, et al....this *may* contribute to a solution of your situation....
First off, I noticed that you're using Consolidated Windows - which I don't - so the followig may or may not help you. But here goes...

One of the things that's bothered me for some time about DP is that;
if you have a chunk (call it Seq. A) with the Conductor Track Event List window open, and you duplicate that chunk - creating Seq. B - then, make B the active chunk, the Conductor Track Event List window that you're seeing is still the one from A! And, of course, if you make edits in it, you're editing A's Conductor Track...not B's as you would think. And the kicker is that the Conductor Track Event List window doesn't show the name of the chunk that you're in , so you can spend an awful lot of time editing events in that window and not getting any results!
The fix is to close that window, then double-click B's Conductor Track and you'll get a new Conductor Track Event List window that works on B!

Like I said, if you're using Consolidated, none of this may help you, but worth taking a look at?

Yes, I did when I tried this. But I didn't have the events window open. I'll give that a try and see if it makes a difference.

Well, it was a bug in DP 8. MOTU has duplicated it and is working on it.

This post is very old now but the issue is still relevant, so I thought I would post a common solution to the problem "Conductor's tempo changes won't change tempo".

Tempo is obtained from one of a number of sources:
1. Conductor track
2. Tempo slider
3. Tap Pad
4. Remote control

To have the Conductor track control the tempo, ensure the tempo source is Conductor Track, set in the Sequence Tempo and Meter section of the Control Panel Window (i.e. the transport control area).

And of course insert tempo changes into the Conductor Track:
