Re: Where Did "Open Sound Control" Go?
Well, DP8 is recognizing and responding to DP Control on both my iPad and iPhone.
Both have iOS6 installed.

Good news!
But it's weird that it seems to be working for some users and not for others.......
I'm in 10.68, what OS are you using?

Aaagghhh
....pleased for you Buzzy, but I am a little perplexed as to what to do next.
I notice that you are running Snow Leopard, so it may be a Lion thing ...but I'm guessing loads of you out there have Lion and DP Control running just dandy!
Any ideas guys?....

I'm running DP8 under Lion 10.7.5 and DPControl works perfectly.
One of the guys on the Facebook page lost OSC in DP7 after installing 8, but it still worked in 8, I thought.....

Re: Where Did "Open Sound Control" Go?
Removed DP Control from my iPad and reloaded it again from the "mother" iMac and now DP Control works with DP 8....weird eh? So now I am Happy !
It still doesn't explain what happened to "Open Sound Control" in DP 7.24.....that's just plain gone

DPControl not working here. iOS5, DP8 64 bits, Lion OS.
I'll try downloading it again from Apple when I get the chance. I'm not using it much anyway in my current project.

I believe a "standard" procedure for misbehaving apps is to delete them and reload them from the app store.

Cuttime might have a good point,I've had a few apps that are repeat offenders,in the sense that they tend to get corrupted after a while like: Remote.cuttime wrote:I believe a "standard" procedure for misbehaving apps is to delete them and reload them from the app store.
Maybe there's an aspect of control oriented apps that gets corrupted easily.
The fix for me has always been to trash & reinstall.

Re: Where Did "Open Sound Control" Go?
So I've got DP8 (32 bit for now) running under 10.8.2 on MacBook Pro (early 2011) and Mac Pro (early 2012).
On Mac Pro things run fine, 7.24 projects are opening and running. No crashes as yet, BUT I've lost communication with my Mackie Control in DP AND in Logic. I'll try some of the fixes posted by others above.
On MacBook Pro (also 10.8.2) DP8 opens old projects and runs them fine. I've successfully used DP Control on my iPad 3 running iOS6. project Stops Starts (with a bit of a lag on the MacBook Counter) and generally does what it should do. No need to reload the app here.
BUT I've got no audio from the MacBook Pro. In fact the only Output option is Airplay! I've got the Built In Output selected as default in both Systems Prefs and Audio MIDI Setup.
Not sure what's going on, or where the sound is being beamed to. Just hope I don't get an irate neighbour banging on the door complaining that my mix is too heavy on the bass and keyboards.
Anyone else having probs with MacBook devices?
Mike
Ah! Almost forgot the bugbear that got me typing in the first place. In trying to fix the lack of audio on the MacBook Pro, I tried various parts of the DP menus, but selecting Setup>Configure Audio System THEN EITHER >Configure Hardware Driver OR >Configure Studio Settings results in a crash. Every time. Report has gone to MOTU... well actually several reports!

Re: Where Did "Open Sound Control" Go?
.....later that same day:
Suddenly the Configure Audio System is working as it should. No clue why it started up again. I opened and closed a Logic session to check that the audio system WAS actually working - it was. Then Garageband, just because it was there. Next try with DP8 was the charm. Sure enough in Configure Hardware Drive, Airplay was shown as the default. Checking Built In fixed the silence.
