I guess they want to use the Windows users as 1st run testers and see if there are any major issues.
I wonder if the Mac OS adds a layer of complexity that might make the 6.4Mac release take much longer? ...............

*edit*
I just got off the phone with UA,what I've been told is the initial Mac release will be a beta(the Windows version is not beta)I was told it will be released next month, which could mean a few days or next week.
The rep I spoke to says they want to release initially as a beta for Mac to see what kind of bugs might need to be fixed.
I'm glad I have JBridge,I'll wait to see the initial reports of UAD6.4 Mac before updating.

They just sent out a mass mailing to Mac users about this.

Dear UAD/Mac user -

An important update.

Today, Universal Audio released new UAD software v6.4 for Windows 7 — delivering several long-requested features for Windows 7 users, including 64-bit plug-in support, and drivers for both the UAD-2 Satellite and the Apollo audio interface (which were previously Mac-only devices).

We want to take this opportunity to let you, as a Mac owner, know that a 64-bit Mac software beta release (UAD v6.4.1) will be available for download in December.

Importantly, we are fully committed to bringing 64-bit support to both platforms this year, and we appreciate your patience over the next few weeks.

Sincerely,

The UA Team

I think I'm good to go with 64 bit when this happens. I was about to try the JBridge, but it may be better to wait.. I have a lot of video projects to do in the next couple weeks, so if I can keep my grubby hands off of DP (8) until then, it just may be worth waiting for. The template I'm building for my next project is large..

One plug I forgot about was 2C Audio's Aether, which I love. Andrew wrote me back and said that 64 bit was coming, but there are a couple products in front of it. That's OK.

I'm almost into 64 bit land, crossing that bridge.. this forum has been invaluable to me.. thanks to everybody here!!

Best,

Killa
