I have had my PCIe-424 card and associated 24i/o installed on a few computers over the last few years and it has never disabled the onboard sound card. I can't think why it would be disappearing from device manager. How did you solve this problem? When I installed MOTU 24i/o, it removed my onboard sound board device from the device manager...I have no sound anymore because aside from having no sound from the set audio output of my 24i/o, my onboard sound board isn't listed anymore...I reinstalled the onboard sound board driver and updated the BIOS with no success. If I reboot into Linux, however, I have sound from the onboard sound board...![]()
