I have had my PCIe-424 card and associated 24i/o installed on a few computers over the last few years and it has never disabled the onboard sound card. I can't think why it would be disappearing from device manager. Most devices these days are happy to share IRQ lines, but on the off chance you have an IRQ conflict, have you tried moving your PCIe/PCIX-424 card to a different slot?calande wrote:Hello,innermusic wrote:I had the on-board sound card disabled (integrated with the motherboard) and ... the problem seems to be solved.
How did you solve this problem? When I installed MOTU 24i/o, it removed my onboard sound board device from the device manager...I have no sound anymore because aside from having no sound from the set audio output of my 24i/o, my onboard sound board isn't listed anymore...I reinstalled the onboard sound board driver and updated the BIOS with no success. If I reboot into Linux, however, I have sound from the onboard sound board...
