This sometimes happens to me and I discovered that if someone posts before you do and the notice that that has happens appears, I will think I am dismissing it when in fact I am deleting my post. I had to pay close attention to what i was doing - kind of like the view filter in DP... cmd-f death!Killahurts wrote:Wow, my post on this thread got deleted.. how strange.
What was your post? I don't recall deleting anything so I'm not sure what's being insinuated? How strange.Killahurts wrote:Wow, my post on this thread got deleted.. how strange.
No, not insinuating anything my friend. I posted and afterwards it redirected me to the posted post, so I saw that it was up there. There was nothing in the post that would have warranted deletion, so I don't think anyone did it. I just said I thought DP on Windows was a good thing.. although I can't quite remember why.James Steele wrote:What was your post? Hmm? you just probably explained why this same thing has happened to me. I "post" and it disappears..... must this board style?MIDI Life Crisis wrote:This sometimes happens to me and I discovered that if someone posts before you do and the notice that that has happens appears, I will think I am dismissing it when in fact I am deleting my post. Weird! I assure you it wasn't me. It's rare that I delete a post. I did so yesterday or the day before (don't remember for sure when it was) when someone triple-posted. I deleted the two that had no responses. I used to delete spam, but James prefers to do that. He keeps track of their domains, and all that. Outside of that, I just don't delete posts. I've never experienced a disappearing post, though.Michael Canavan wrote:Hmm? you just probably explained why this same thing has happened to me. My assumption is that all 15 of the new DP plugins are all MAS plugins, and that MAS will run on both the Mac and PC. I am only guessing, but does that sound probable? MAS should work on the PC, right? That would make all MOTU plugins completely interchangeable on both platforms.Shooshie wrote:What format will DP's PC plugins be in? Did they say? Or is that why you all are talking about VST? I need to listen to that video and see what Magic Dave said.
I'm surprised that we can't do that already. I've never needed to do it so I didn't even realize it wasn't possible.Michael Canavan wrote:Anyway, it's still safest to print everything to audio, so again, I would love it if MOTU thought about this with DP8 and included a "print all tracks to separate audio files" feature instead of having to mess around with freeze and cluttering up your project etc.
Well freezing pretty much covers it, I don't remember if freezing covers FX tracks or not, but basically you freeze, then drag the frozen tracks to another folder, unfreeze and you've got tracks end to end for another DAW. You might want to bulk rename them so they don;t say freeze in the name. Logic does this well, Live pulls a boner and names the song file at the beginning of the file name, though there are Automator scripts for bulk cutting out the first x letters in a files name.zed wrote:I'm surprised that we can't do that already. James confirmed in another post that projects containing audio and MOTU's bundled plugins would be cross compatible between the Windows and OSX version - so this pretty much confirms that the MAS plugs will work the same on the PC and Mac.zed wrote: My assumption is that all 15 of the new DP plugins are all MAS plugins, and that MAS will run on both the Mac and PC. I was wondering about Audiodesk, as well. It's currently mac only, just like DP. But for many people who buy one of the MOTU interfaces, and don't need MIDI, Audiodesk is a very useful program for basic tracking. I would be surprised if they don't also have a windows version of Audiodesk to bundle with their hardware.bayswater wrote:As an aside, does AudioDesk run in Windows? is there any other host that can use MAS plugins?
