Heartfelt thanks for your helpful and sympathetic responses, guys. Please forgive me for not replying individually to your posts - I had two hours' sleep last night and these things have been dancing all over me non-stop for the entire day. As I write I'm picking them off my face and back. (Sorry.)

@jlaudon: Much thanks for pinetarsol recommendation. I'll look it up when I wake up tomorrow. Right now, it's all I can do to type this.

@Shooshie: Thank you so much for taking the time to read all of my site. I know it's a lot to read but I felt it was important that no detail be left out just in case it might have a bearing on my present predicament. So thank you again.

Your own story is horrible. Headaches like that are a living nightmare, so I'm glad you got yours sorted out.

I've emailed the Morgellons organisations in the UK to ask whether they keep a list of progressive and open-minded dermatologists and doctors. I'm still waiting to hear back.

And you're right about doctors. When I attended my first (and last) class reunion, I found that many of the guys who were great at book-learning but had no imagination or intuition whatever went on to become doctors. To them, status was everything.

I think I'll give the gasoline a miss though. I might be tempted to strike a match. :)

Thanks again for your kind thoughts.

@MIDI Life Crisis: Many thanks for the alcohol suggestion. Maybe rubbing alcohol might do something? I'll have to research it tomorrow. I'm dead on my feet here.

Incidentally, the Irish medical system is state-run. While there is private medical insurance available, most people here (including me) prefer to use the state system.

@kgdrum: Thanks for the tea and sympathy. :)

I get the odd not-so-bad day now and again. Today was hell. So all I can do is take it one day at a time. And hope.

Once again, gentlemen, thank you all so much for your support and kindness. I no longer feel quite so alone.

Kind regards to you all.

Good luck with it all Dave.
I suffer from insomnia myself sometimes up to 3 days with no sleep that alone can be very debilitating.

I try to stay away from the pharmaceuticals although I do have some.
The problem usually starts 3:30-4 in the morning when I realize I can't sleep but by then its to late to take anything.
Luckily its a periodic thing that only happens maybe once a month.
I think its an getting old thing.

Thanks for your response, wylie1.

Dear God, three days without sleep is unthinkable. Wow! The worst I've ever had was 40 minutes. Normally, it's anywhere from two to four hours. And before this all happened I used to need nine hours to be firing on all cylinders.

You have my sympathy, for what it's worth.

Kind regards.

Hi folks,

It's been a long time since I've been here.

I've been working 16 hours a day seven days a week for the past five months on a vast update to my website which I've finally finished and uploaded. And I really, really need you to go take a look because it contains vital and time-sensitive information you all need to know right now and pass on.

I can't tell you how important this is.

Much love and light to you all.

Dave.
