I just checked my email and I received the following from Mr. Konstantin Borilov of MusicLab.
It was in response to my cry for help. I hope he doesn't mind that I've posted it here since it could be of help to a lot of folks. I haven't tried this yet, myself. If anybody else tries it, let us know how it turns out....... & thank you Mr. Borilov

" Dear Jimi,

Please run standalone versions of RealGuitar/RealStrat, click on the MusicLab logo, check your authorization status. Close RealGuitar/RealStrat. Now:
1. Delete HD/Users//Library/Preferences/Digital Performer/Audio Unit Info Cache file;
2. Start Digital Performer. It will rebuild its AU cache and find RealGuitar/RealStrat.

Sincerely,
Konstantin Borilov,
MusicLab Support.

Of the three Real instruments, the only one I haven't updated to the 64 bit version is RealGuitar, although, since I'm on a 32 bit system, those versions may never have been installed (just their 32 bit counterparts). I've had issues loading them into Audiofile Engineering's Rax, but never with DP.

For me, news of 64-bit anything is not something I've ever cared about.
What interests me is if the product sounds any better or has really cool
new features.

MusicLab announced in customer emails that version 3 of their products is
forthcoming, and they've added a new strumming technology to them. Unfortunately it seems to require a hokey toy guitar controller that you hook up to your computer. Nevertheless it looks very interesting, and hopefully the
new versions will include new samples and/or overall better sound and a better
interface:
