Install took away my desktop screen photos.
The default galaxy thing is now displayed on all monitors.
First time for that one.
Just about to check DP.

Have you tried re-pointing to the folders containing the pictures in the Desktop/Screen Saver pref panel? You may have to put the folder back in to the prefs pane. The update to 10.6.6 didn't do this.waterstrum wrote:Install took away my desktop screen photos.

hopefully not a problem for us DP (QuickScribe) users, really, but a number of folks over on Sibelius are reporting that 10.6.7 is really screwing with their music fonts. it's likely related *just* to Sibelius fonts, but it might impact QuickScribe fonts, as well.

I had a problem with that and Finale after the 10.6.6 install. The fix was to go into FontBook, Select All and Resolve Duplicates. Don't know if this is the same problem.williemyers wrote:hopefully not a problem for us DP (QuickScribe) users, really, but a number of folks over on Sibelius are reporting that 10.6.7 is really screwing with their music fonts. it's likely related *just* to Sibelius fonts, but it might impact QuickScribe fonts, as well.

just an update re: possible problems with 10.6.7 and notation prog.s (think: Quickscribe). a *very* knowledgeable guy over on Sibelius - sorry I can't link, it's an owner-only forum (don't you hate those?!) - is now reporting that 10.6.7 should not be used at all with Sibleius...firstly it was fonts problems, now it's 10.6.7/Sibelius generated pdf's that crash end-users' systems. I realise this is all Sibelius-specific, but it might be a heads-up for Quickscribe users.Phil O wrote:I had a problem with that and Finale after the 10.6.6 install. Actually you can browse the forums as a guest and that's how I got to this link which describes the problem:williemyers wrote: just an update re: possible problems with 10.6.7 and notation prog.s (think: Quickscribe). a *very* knowledgeable guy over on Sibelius - sorry I can't link, it's an owner-only forum (don't you hate those?!) - is now reporting that 10.6.7 should not be used at all with Sibleius...firstly it was fonts problems, now it's 10.6.7/Sibelius generated pdf's that crash end-users' systems. http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcen ... 3&&guest=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If this fails you can always go to the Sibelius home page, click on support and from there go to the forums and look for a thread with the title 'pdf'. And apparently it's not only pdf files but possibly other Adobe product as well.

good catch, Jack! I didn't realize that one could "guest" the Sibelius forum now, but it's good that they can.n2mpujack wrote:Actually you can browse the forums as a guestwilliemyers wrote: over on the Sibelius forum - sorry I can't link, it's an owner-only forum (don't you hate those?!)
I *really* don't like forums that you can only access, *IF* you already own the product....reminds me of Groucho's remark about club membership!
FWIW, I'm the "proud" owner of a $1k+ string library that I *never* would've bought, *if* I could've accessed their forum...*prior* to purchasing...
Anyway, here's another link about Sibelius's problems that may be enlightening http://tinyurl.com/3vjg9b9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am not sure if OS 10.6.7 is the culprit, but I had a song that before upgrading , did NOT have sync problems. Now, the sub set of bass tracks is out of sync. It is due to Ozone 4. I have had to put a manual offset plug in on the bass tracks to compensate.

Per MakeMusic, Apple has introduced a font bug with 10.6.7 - it's screwing up Finale users, too. I haven't noticed it yet but I have a feeling that I will.

I went from 10.5.8 to 10.6.7 on a dual quad 2.8 and now have the hangup issue when I quit DP. It quits after a short delay and then I get one of the "application quit unexpectedly" messages. No great harm but it didn't happen till 10.6.7.
DP 7.24, Mac 2.8 8 core, 10GB RAM, 2 UAD-2 Quad, a massive pile of plug-ins and 3 slave PCs with VIs. VEP to connect everything.

Re: OS 10.6.7 out today. Post reports on DP compatibility.
and...10.6.7 is screwing around with (some) Preview-printed pdfs, i.e. you send a 10.6.7-made Quickscribe chart (or other notation progs) to a player or client, they open in Preview and print and it's all whacked out! Something *definitely* not happy with 10.6.7...mikehalloran wrote: Per MakeMusic, Apple has introduced a font bug with 10.6.7 - it's screwing up Finale users, too.
