That's all I could come up with too, G. I can't see how one could get around that 'round-trip latency, defined by the chosen buffer on the second machine.

Unless we're both somehow missing something...

Oh, and the other bonus would obviously be that one wouldn't have to constantly adjust buffers for different situations.

I think the "3D holographic" nature of the sound which the OP wants to maintain, has something to do with the speakers being pushed within an inch of their life, combined with coloring introduced by the Waves limiting. If that's true, then I think fusing the speakers is the best solution for him. I've stopped blowing NS-10m tweeters since I've been fusing mine.
