As for the comparison chart, it's the sort of thing I need to study, but unfortunately it will neither link or print (I tried earlier when I made my other post, and tried again just now). Maybe I'll be more successful later on from the Mac than from Windows.

I must ask, though--- you say $132 less than iZotope's direct price? Doing the math, $749 - 368 = $381.

That's an upgrade path from the original RX non-advanced, which I use only every day or so.

i used to use the waves restoration stuff..but honestly, sound soap works fine.

I thought there was a more recent post than this one, regarding RX2 Advanced, but time does fly after all...

I upgraded RX to RX2 Advanced a couple of weeks back, and worked with it over the weekend. I am totally blown away by this product, and feel it is pretty close at this point to a high end dedicated restoration setup.

It also is now my go-to product for SRC, as it is slightly more advanced than the version packaged with WaveEditor. It also includes the same dithering as Ozone 4, so take your pick depending on which is more convenient to use at the time.

The main thing I have used it for so far, is to restore a heavily clipped audio-for-video file that the client couldn't re-cut (or where the performance was too perfect to risk doing over).

This was a Voice-Over track, not music. RX2 Advanced is real smart about how it deals with Voice-Overs, and despite the fact that the entire file was like one gigantic clipped square wave, it was able to restore the dynamics and round off the clipped signal such that it sounded as though it had never been clipped to start with.

Truly miraculous software!

Got my upgrade the other day as well. I'm hoping to find an improvement in the ways I can reduce artifacts of clothes rustling in poorly attached lav mics for independent films.

Gary, good luck with that -- I'm pretty sure that SPECIFIC scenario was mentioned as one of the strengths of the new version (or at least of the Advanced version).

Yes, the Advanced version has a multi-resolution option for all algorithms in Spectral Repair. It is able to separate noise better including subtle noise:)
