for me as a new owner i feel i just bought an out of date product. it does not support .caf or kontak 4. it can't find the samples in any of my exs instruments. these are just the issues i found the first day. universal sample my foot. truly i feel ripped off. i had no idea what i was getting into. three years and no updates, sheeez.
i bought my copy as part of their competitive upgrade plan. my theory is this is a bate and switch. 'you want an engine in that car? why didn't you say so. that's gonna cost you.'
i predict the next upgrade will be a paid upgrade. twist the knife.

Exactly what is the problem here? Depending on when you bought it the next version should be free. Did they tell you it supported CAF anywhere? Not sure what MachFive 2 claims to support or not. Wasn't sure EXS was supported either. I saw in another thread someone saying it wasn't in MachFive 2.goofy priest wrote:for me as a new owner i feel i just bought an out of date product. it does not support .caf or kontak 4. it can't find the samples in any of my exs instruments. these are just the issues i found the first day. universal sample my foot. truly i feel ripped off. i had no idea what i was getting into. three years and no updates, sheeez.

hi james,
sorry for being a bit hotheaded. people here seem pleased with motu. hopefully i'll get there too.
the problem here is this, i just bought this software. it was advertised as a universal sampler which could open all most major formats with out conversion. it listed .aif .nki and apple loops. now if they didn't mean .caf why did they list both .aif and apple loops? did i ask first? no, i guess i screwed up.
when i buy current software i expect it to work with current files. if i had bought it three years ago i would understand. things change. it takes time to make changes. but no where was it made clear i could only use old file formats.
and exs files are supposed to be supported in MF2. the browser has three built in links standard. apple loops, exs instruments and garageband instruments. none will open. is that ironic? is it a problem?
the marketing makes a big deal about how advanced the browser is. a browser that can't find it's files is useless. since my main purpose for getting MF2 was to use exs and apple loops in Live it's pretty useless to me as well.
of course i'm speculating about the next upgrade being a paid one. we'll have to wait and see.
