This is an awesome deal. I have joined twice already so that I can get 10 packs for sure (plus the bonuses), and very likely 12 packs because it is almost guaranteed to hit 6 for 1, since it goes all through May.

The loop libraries are all SampleTank specific, but they are really cool in that each preset contains the loop and all the components of the loop sliced up and spread across the keyboard, allowing you to play your loops in very unique ways (essentially turning every loop into a virtual drum kit, much like is done with Stylus RMX). This can produce some very interesting and useful results.

The Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Piano and Bass Collections contain stuff that I have been using for years, plus some more recently added stuff that I am pretty excited about. It is not all fantastic, but there are some great instruments contained in each pack... stuff I would not want to be without. I love this stuff, and at this dirt cheap pricing, I would not recommend passing it up.

Also if you join the GB via eSoundz, you'll get an extra bonus for each time you join (and you get to choose the different bonuses yourself). :-)

And yes... you get a FULL version of SampleTank by joining this GB. You just don't get the huge SampleTank library that would normally come with it if you bought SampleTank 2XL. But you will get a 1GB library that includes samples from many of the libraries, including SampleTron and SampleMoog.

One more thing. If you don't care about the extras from joining via eSoundz, you can actually use your JamPoints at IK Multimedia to join this GB. So for only $25, you can join up and you will get a minimum of 6 sound libraries, and probably 7 by the time it is over. Do the math. That is about $3.50 for each sound library, and each sound library contains an average of about 200 instruments (or loops) and sometimes even twice that amount in some packs.

It is a total give-away. The ultimate no-brainer.

And you can bet your pretty pink fannies, that this GB will soon be followed by the release of SampleTank 3 which everyone is going to want. Might as well get into the game while it is free to do so.

The Group Buy has just hit 5 for 1 status. That means that if you bought it twice on the IK Multimedia site, using your Jam Points, that you could get 10 sound libraries for $50.

$5 a piece? I paid a lot more for these libraries in assorted deals and GBs over the past few years.

Hey wylie1, do you suppose you could change the subject heading of this thread to read something like:
Sonic Reality/IK Multimedia Group Buy (5 for 1) ?

That might draw a little more attention to this thread.

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty sure I'll join this group buy. The folks over at KVR keep mentioning their username, so that they can get referrals, and more points to use on esoundz.

If anyone wants to give out their username here, I'll refer you when I join up. I'd rather give points to a fellow citizen of MOTUNATION.

Thanks for keeping us up on the Group buy!

Hey Matt,

I really don't do much advertising of my username over here, since I wouldn't want anyone to think that I keep people updated about these Group Buys to collect the ePointz.

But, of course, I would be happy to collect a few more if you or anyone wants to refer me.

You have probably read many of my contributions over at KVR... my username there, along with my eSoundz username is zedd

Thanks! :-)

Nope. It will come free, as an additional download.
James Steele wrote:Okay... I'm in! Waiting on my serial number!
As soon as you get it, and enter it in the registration page at IK, your downloads will be available in 3 spots on your IK user area (which can be a little bit confusing, I know). In your user area, you'll find downloads here:

Multibox (one pick)
Promotions (four picks)

And also the SampleTank download... and I forget how and where that appears. Maybe in downloads. Read the PDF that should come with your serial number.

Thanks... yep, I'm following along okay. I've become such a plug-in ••••• over the years that I was already familiar with IK's site since I own Classik Studio Reverbs and T-Racks (version 1). I never did buy version 3, nor the non-existant version 2!

I think your going to enjoy ST.
When you download the XT sounds there's sample samples of some of the libraries so when you download another libraries you may end up with a couple of sounds that are dups.
Also I have a drive dedicated to samples with a dir /sampletank in there.
When I download a library I find it easier to just drag and drop the library in there.
The libraries come with an installer I think its just for default installs.

Yeah... I'm downloading the basic sound library now. I also have a dedicated sample library drive and I was wondering how involved it was to make sure the library installs where I want it and Sample Tank can find it okay.

Seriously, I like the way the MOTU/UVI VIs let you just put an alias where it expects to see the sounds, and that alias can point to a folder wherever you want it to be. It's easier than having to use Sound Mover for EZ Drummer, etc.

It is Simple
In the SampleTank window on the right You'll see PREFS
In there you set your dir.
When you add to that dir just click RELIST and it will scan for a change.
I've created a dir in there My Samples where I drop my own .WAV files and it reads them fine.

Just to add to this.
What I've done with ST a couple of times is copy a vocal phrase chours/hook or whatever and use ST to do the harmonies.
The time stretch feature works great.

Yep. And if you actually want to use the installers that come with the products, rather than dragging and dropping the libraries, it is just as easy (or even easier). It will ask you to locate your current SampleTank library folder and then install the sound pack in your main library in a folder with the Soundpack name. It basically just does the dragging and dropping for you and provides an appropriate folder name.
