I see. Probably goes back to some legacy code related to that blasted FreeMIDI! I was always SO glad to get that thing set up and working. So, DP is looking for a MIDI interface + a MIDI instrument. It makes sense in a Unicorny sort of way, if you know what I mean.

I have tried it using all the recommended tickles enuf times to know it isn't working. Huh.Just wanted to get back to y'al. Thanks for the tips and research. Nuts.

HEY - IT IS WORKING -
I checked my audio MIDI set up and in the MIDI set up the controller keyboard I use wasn't hooked up both ways - I hooled it up both ways and now tap tempo is working flawlessly. Not a USB hookup, straight MIDI. Huh. Well, great!

When you've done all the prescribed methods, and it STILL won't work, it's time to look at MIDI cables, USB cables, power cables, circuit breakers, where the cat's been sleeping.
