One of my main reason for buying it at that time was I wanted to be able to use some of my old Akai MPC 3k & 2k snds, ASR 10 & Emu sample disc. Some sounds did load but most of them didn't. For that reason alone it was basicly a waste for me. After messing around with it a little in stand alone mode I started to like it. Only problem was that in stand alone mode it would crash a lot??? I also tried using machfive with Pro Tools HD 7.4 as an RTAS that didn't work either. It would crash Pro Tools. More than a year later and a new version of Pro Tools and a new MAC OS and it's still not compatible!!!!! Since then I've move on to NI Komplete. I see the Motu staff has been really busy with a ton of new products both hardware and software... So you gotta love that...hahaha I'm not bitter, just embarrassed that I waisted that kind of $ on this program. Don't get me wrong machfive is not a bad program it's actually a very good & powerful sampler. It just has a very bad support system in place.

by the way, trying to get help from tech support at Motu was a nightmare!!! If they do make a MachFive 3 It wouldn't be fair of them to charge for an upgrade since I've never been able to properly use the version I have. I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way.
or at the very least a Mach 5 v2.5 update with BUG FIXES!!!
I totally agree!!!! At least fix the BUGS!! They owe us that much!

.
Can you be more specific, please?
What bugs does M5 2 have?

Well for one, the fame and fortune option requires too much work. I can get them to work separately but never in tandem. Sucks! LOL!
M5 works great for me all around.

I'm glad it works fine for you. That's encouraging.
I can't wait to try it!

If you only have one working at a time, fortune is probably the better option.

try and assign 2 separate keygroup LFO's to the filter cuttoff, add a modulator and assign keygroup lfo1, then add a second modulator and assign it to keygroup lfo 2, when you do this the lfo 1 slot will switch to lfo 2 and you will have 2 mod assignments to lfo 2, this is a bug, I cannot assign multiple modulators to the filter at all.
can any of you do this, or reproduce the problem.

I'm still running Mach5 v.1 with DP, it's been very reliable, I'm a bit afraid to upgrade to V.2, at the moment Kontakt 4 seems like a great sampler with lot's of support, probably wait a little longer to see if Motu releases anything new, if not instead of upgrading to V.2, I might just spend a bit of extra $ and get Kontakt 4, I know a few people who were running Mach5 version 2, and like Kontakt 4 better, I'm waiting to have to chance to get a demo of both side by side, and decide what to do. I'm hoping Motu releases a killer new version of Mach5 soon, and at a reasonable upgrade price.

I have heard that the amazingly awesome freeze function does not work in 10.6 when using MachFive2. For someone who relies heavily on MachFive2 that is a bit of a bummer, and rather unexpected as it is a MOTU product.
One minor bug I get every so often is a VERY loud burst of noise, almost always when I am utilizing the built-in ping pong delay in insert mode.
That said, I really appreciate the fairly straight forward way that MOTU implemented the UI.
I really hope that the new MachFive3 will have an option to automatically replace any instance of MachFive2 in previous sequences, or at the very least seamlessly load M52 performances.

I get that on other UVI/MOTU products. Also some weird noises when using the chorus. The delay and chorus are buggy effects. Good thing the chorus sucks and I don't use it but they have some really nice delays.
BTW What sample rate are you using when this happens?

I have a simple problem with MachFiveV3. The auto load to preview patches doesn't work for me in DP 7.24.

auto load is only for loops(REX, Apple Loops) and phrases(wav, aiff, ..) material not multi sampled presets.
