Hello All...

I was surprised to see this post active again - shows the helpful nature of the participants around here!

Thank you all for your helpful comments - I have been a DP (well, Performer) user since 1988 and still going strong. To bring you up to date, I did upgrade to a 424 card and also a Dual G5 1.8 Ghz. It has not been completely rosy, but I just completed a project that was very track dense (56+ on almost every tune - glad it's behind me!!) and I didn't have to bounce to disk near as much as I'm used to. I do like the ability to use VI's - much more elegant in OS X - and Audio Units compatibility is awesome.

This site is great - thanks to all who have contributed so much to this community of music makers!

Hi UltraJC,
my 2408 mk II/PCI-324 was semi-stable under OS X. It wasn't all that great under OS 9 though, to be honest. My setup has been near perfect after a PCI-424 upgrade. And that includes a transition from a G4 to a G5. Of course, a PCI-424 is necessary with a G5.

Anyway, there a program called Jack OS X. That may be of help if anyone needs to run a PCI-324 in OS X. Effectively, Jack OS X acts like an interpreter between OS X and the PCI-324. One guy at Sonikmatter say he did this and the PCI-324 became completely stable and reliable.

Cheers,

Paul
