A request: could you check to see if the MIDI input filter bug has been fixed?
6.02 will freeze if you try to add a controller # to filter because the add controller
window opens UNDER the input filter window.

Looking forward to your report! Thanks!

Mike
It's working here. The input window pops up ABOVE the input filter box. If it happens to you again, try typing COMMAND-PERIOD. That is, the period key, beside the comma.

Glad to hear it's fixed in 7. Command-period doesn't help for me in 6.02 ... still have to force quit DP. Thanks for the info!

Installing RIGHT NOW!!
Actually very excited. Just love my DP, even if it SHOULD be 6.5 :) I like the number 7. Just always thought it'd have more goodies in it. No worries though, I'm not complaining :)

2 initial Cons:

Though it's not a biggie. . . WTF is with the Instruments Demo Project??? Is THAT really a good example of what you can do with the built-in virtual instruments? Seriously? I remember when opening one of these projects back in version 5, and it was loaded with tracks, samples, instruments, and diverse interesting well produced music. These guys have connections with Jordan Ruddess for god's sake. A very poor representation of what can be accomplished with what you get out of the box. ALSO. . .What is with the MOTU Tutorial Files with NOTHING in them??? Am I missing something, clueless, or what?

2ndly, the merge soundbites enhancement, to ME is NOT an enhancement. I liked the way it functioned before, this new functionality should be AN OPTION. . .please. It was so easy to just draw a marqui around all the bytes I wanted to write the pitch automation for, and now it will write a bunch of audio that I DON'T need. :( Enhancement my rear behind.

So far, two and a half steps back, though they may be small, they are there.

Got mine installed on dual G5 ppc Leopard. No install issues.

Quick impressions:

1. Runs fine. All the plugins work. Mach, RMX, Waves.

2. I really did check the version # since looks wise seemingly nothing has changed. Even the DP icon is unchanged. Only the telltale mini fader strip.

3. Tried all the included new plugins, all work fine. I don't really need 'em as I have NI. But more is better.

4. Like the improvements to notation (Chords, lyrics, etc)

5. Quite disappointed that none of these notation additions in Quickscribe makes it to the other windows. The markers continue to be cascadable in Quickscribe, but not in any other window. DP has so many window possibilities - e.g. Notation editor, why don't the lyrics show up there or any other window? And why don't the markers cascade? Doesn't everyone make more than 1 note at the same location? Maybe there's an existing trick - anyone know?

6. Like the markers view in the big window

7. Overall conclusion: I'm ok with it. There are (supposedly) numerous under-the-hood changes like in SL. Nothing though that *I* would say are gotta-have, feature wise. Probably is a lot more stable and faster, time will tell, but then DP6 was stable for me.

Ordered mine today! should get it Friday. I should have SnowLeop by then. I am going to wait to install until Scott Stillwell gets his stuff running OK with it.
I am getting a little excited :) :)
I will be more excited when I see it all working. I have had such good luck with DP 5.13, I hate to lose that stability.
