Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
Had a session today. The boss needed drums in WAV files. Started off with a session set to WAV's. Tracked the drums, no problem. I made a template of the first song, started the next, and after the last good take went to look at the files, discovered they were recorded as AIFFs. Checked the preference box and the template changed itself to AIFF. Well that's OK I'll convert to WAV's and get on with it. Got on to the last song, same thing as expected, finished up. I went Toast to burn the WAV's onto a DVD. I couldn't find the files in the audio files folder. It turns out each next songs files were put in the first songs audio folder. I've been using DP for 9 years and that has never happened. I have 3 different songs in separate Project folders and the audio all went in the first song. "Zed we've got a bug", get out the RAID. But somethings not right.

Same problem here with the default to AIFF
Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
Same results here. A template I saved with Broadcast WAVE as the default for both "Default For New Project" and "Current Project" opens a new file with the default for new projects still set to Broadcast WAVE but the current project is set to AIFF.

Well, it appears unanimous. MOTU, please take note.monkey man wrote:My thinking exactly, KS.
Best we await further data; it's early days. The thread title should make it easy for folks to find and report in on this. It might be worth adding the words, "Please Report" to it though IMHO.

Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
before they release a fix for this ALL OF US will record entire sessions in aiff without noticing until later.
when it happens, the best way i found to change the format of the files:
switch file format in dp prefs to whatever you thought you were recording to.
in sequence editor, select all affected soundbites and merge them.
this will give you new files and will not erase the old aiff ones by default in case something weird happens.
On my machine this works better than doing the same task in the soundbite window but it takes longer
