Oh and by the way, If you want 8 channels of 96k using the D8 as a Pre only would be the only way to get this to work--I don't think the D8 does 96k sampling.

There is a similar Presonus product that will allow 8 channels of 96k ADAT output, don't remember what it is off the top of my head.

Yes, have been looking at it on the net. Looking at their 32 channel adat to firewire device as a longer range option though it's only good for 16 at 96. Not a bad option for a decent common clock.
