MIDI Driver 1.3.1

Can't remember exactly where it lives, but if you do a search on motu and kext, I think you'll find it. It might be in the Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers folder...

Also, to clarify what I wrote earlier in this thread, I had the kernel panics after installing 1.3 - I tried 1.3.1 last night and A/M Setup could not see my interface (Fastlabe USB). On a recommendation from a user at OSXA, I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it... same thing.

Perhaps the order is 1. Uninstall whatever version of the driver you have. 2. Reboot. 3. Install 1.3.1 driver. 4. Reboot. 5. Fix permissions. 6 Reboot. 7. Try A/M Setup and see if it's there.

I'm not sure why we should need to go through such an absurd 7 step process (assuming it even works) when most other installers work 1st try.

And if indeed the above works, how about MOTU mention this before we spend hours screwing around????

Whew... Maybe sticking with the old driver is the best solution for me?

I had the same problem with my MTP-AV and G5. It couldn't see it in the Audio/MIDI setup after I updatetd to 1.3.1. I went to check that it was plugged in right, well of course it was as it was just working! But I was desparate. Anyways, I UNPLUGGED the USB cable from the MTP-AV and PLUGGED IT BACK IN and you know what? There she was! Apple saw it, Audio/MIDI saw it and no problems since then. Go figure...

I did that too. Unplugged, re-plugged - nada. I just gave up and went back to the old driver. C'mon MOTU! Fer cryin' out loud.

Hi ,
When you deinstall or install a new driver(deistall before insalling is very recomended) , it is very usefull to
disconnect the interfaces and make a restart .
A lot of trouble could be avoided

Did you unplug and plug back in while the computer was on? That's what I did and then the computer recognized the new USB device. Restarting didn't do a thing.

i had the same problem. motu tech worked through it with me. 1-load driver 2- shut off interface(in my case mtpav) 3-open audiomidi setup 4-highlight interface and DELETE it that will leave just your MIDI devices 5-turn on interface and a new interface icon should appear 6-reconnect your cables and you should be good to go! i hope this helps it worked great for me!!!!

try the "easy install". the custom install don't install any driver (my experience)

Thanks JD, but that didn't work either. I did the usual checks - permissions repairs and all that. Nada. I think I'm just gonna stick to the old version. I don't get that many stuck notes.

I've installed the new 1.3.1 driver for more than a week. The MIDI problem has been imporoved. But I still get stuck notes quite frequently? Anyone still have this problem?

Before 1.3.1, stuck note won't go away even by pressing the <Panic> (command+1 or hard button on interface). After 1.3.1, <panic> usually works but I have to press it quite often.

Any idea?

For me, 1.3.1 makes the MIDI timing much better when the CPU is under stress.
