No need. You were the one that figured out what was going wrong. I might never have found it because I'm illogical/lazy enough to just throw up my hands in that situation and chalk it up to the ghost in the machine and not investigate further.

That's what I love about "The Nation" though. It makes me think:) Just hearing that yours worked made me look a little harder.

Sonnox Sony Oxford Dynamics plug does not work in DP 6 and just installing DP6 will break the thing from working in 5.13 as well.

I had to uninstall 6, AND reinstall 5.13 to get it to work again.

I wrote a thread about it here somewhere..

Too bad you did a whole reinstall. We should have a sticky about the broken AudioUnit Support.bundle so that folks know the work around. Seems like a big one to me. James, what say you?

Does Atmosphere, Trilogy and Stylus RMX work in DP6 on a PPC? Thanks.

Good idea! In the meantime, what is the workaround? :)

I switched out the 6.0 AU support bundle for the 5.13 one, and all of my VIs and plug-ins are running perfectly in 6.0.

I had the privilege of finding this temp fix here on the 'Nation before I installed 6.0. So, before I loaded it up, I saved the 5.13 bundle to another drive, then slugged it in after.

If the 6.0 support bundle was advanced only to allow prerendering, I'm fine removing it. I prefer to work without prerendering anything. No unexpected audio pops.

I should say: Since then, I've only given 6.0 a quick one-hour test drive, but it held up perfectly.

It's probably required for the other AU enhancements: ramp automation, sidechain inputs, Cocoa UIs, etc.

Ah, yes. You're probably right. Well, I kept the 6.0 bundle on my system. Should I need to switch it back in, I can roll the dice.

Sound Toys bundle: knobs won't turn at all.

Also, bounce to disk crashed several times on a 26 track project.
I ended up saving the project in 5.12 and then opened DP 5 in order to BTD.

Just to update: there was a post on another thread that noted VI failure only when the GUI was opened in DP6; I tested this and got the same results.

If I make a project with VIs like B4II or M-Tron using the old AU MAS bundle to set them up, and then open them in DP6 using the new AU MAS wrapper, everything is hunky dory until I open the GUI. Then DP crashes.

All of these various reports suggest a problem with handling the GUI on AUs in DP6. I've filed (and revised multiple times) a report with MOTU tech support; my understanding is hat others have done so as well. Hopefully we'll see some response.

I'm not sure what the difference is, but for me, all the NI plugs work fine in DP6 (using the DP6 Mas AU support bundle, not the older one). In fact, I have yet to find a plugin that doesn't work in DP6...

The very first time I tried an AU insert effect, DP6 did present an error message, but then I selected a different effect, which came up, and then selected "Reactivate Effects" from the mini-menu in the effect editor, and I was able to load the effect I tried to load the first time. I haven't seen this issue since...

Other than that, everything's fine. It would be interesting to know what's different between our setups...
